Pope Leo turned the question around like the boss he is.
Screenshot of a tweet by perrito barista (@Carlitospindola), translated from Spanish, quoting Pope Leo responding to a question about migration by reframing it: "What is the global North doing to help the global South in its situation that forces them to migrate?" The embedded video shows the Pope holding a microphone aboard what appears to be a plane, with clergy visible behind him.

There is a massively polarised debate in relation to over/under-diagnosis in psychiatry. Over/under-diagnosis are both harmful. Also, both could occur simultaneously: loads of people might get diagnoses they should not, whilst simultaneously loads of other people might not get diagnoses who should.

There is little work on NHPs now. Instead almost all the work is on mice. I can understand that this can tell us about human metabolism. But cognition depends on complex neural circuitry. We need to know what cognitive capacities we share with mice and what capacities are unique to primates or us.

Europe spent years debating whether the energy transition was affordable. Spain quietly answered the question: gas now sets its electricity price in only 7% of hours. Strategic autonomy doesn’t arrive via summit communiqués. It’s built in advance — in wind farms, solar parks, and grid investment

Ian has a way of getting to the nub. This is basically the kind of thing I wrote to Tim Davie about in 2020, though I had no idea how bad it would get. Most of the media has not the slightest notion how to handle a situation like this, and instead tries desperately to normalize it.
