I am thankful that Indigenous folks before me in academia wrote the articles that are now being discussed in my masters pedagogy and seminar courses. But no, I don't appreciate the prof in the course saying these articles were what made them think of native people as socially complex human beings

Another year of the Miss Six Nations in the books! Very proud to support the pageant. Dakota Brant, pageant director, has made so many special changes to the contest. All the contestants are exceptional. Congrats to everyone and especially Degahędagé Lacey John, the new Miss Six Nations!

While Syracuse has the "Haudenosaunee Promise" the cheap imitations (like my program) only cover the base tuition and nothing else. So while tuition is "free" I'm paying all my fees out of pocket. Anyways, don't have the funds to make it to class or eat this week! Yay.

Today was the funeral for my ex partner. He loved his family so much and loved being Cayuga. We lived together for two years before traumas caught up with us. I loved/am grieving a complex, imperfect person. I was harmed and loved by him. I am praying for him and for everyone who loves him still.
