I am looking for remote work. Worked for 20+ years in service firms. Now I code tools like simple static analyzers, a DB based on Bitcask etc. Primary language was #Java but learnt #OCaml. I continuosly write in branetheory.org and mohanr.github.io.

@dcsystems.bsky.social Came across some related presesntations. Wondering about new research and code to implement Static Analyzers based on Abstract Interpretation. How has the field evolved ? Does it now have more potential when combined with LLMs ?

www.di.ens.fr/%7Ecousot/CO... A Gentle Introduction to Abstract Interpretation by Patrick Cousot/TASE 2015/The 9th International Symposium on Theoretical Aspects of Software Engineering is the best practical tutorial I know. All the #OCaml examples are right there on that web page in a .zip file.

Not yet reached the technical review stage. So it is the prose I am revising. Prose is harder than the code. I am a programmer. What is the idea of the book? A partial but extensible implementation of tools like a DB, RAFT and a TUI with CRDT editing capabilities etc. 200-300 pages.

Code is working but I need some Technical Writing resources. Subject is complicated to explain clearly. What Tech. Writing or in general writing resources would you recommend for such books ? TIkz diagrams are used. Still have to explain. Not a functional programming book per se.Only implementation.

I have written a draft of the first 3 chapters of my #OCaml book. It is a contract but decided to ask here. The 3 chapters cover a simple DB and the index data structure. And only the Leader election of RAFT. A few thousand lines for each subject as it involves capnp RPC and OCaml 5.x and tests.

Old mailing lists and their archives were replaced by Discord,Discourse and SO. Some mailing lists received thousands of mails and they were answered. Interesting times. Now #Java #OCaml mailing lists don't exist. Surprisingly Open JDK lists exist. LLMs hasten the demise of community engagement.
