Hi everybody! Sorry for being gone. I’ve been: - giving all my attention to family and friends while in CA/MA/MD over summer - planning for new school year - moving from a studio into a 2BR house!! - chasing adult stuff (residency, bills, insurance) I’ll be back and responding to messages soon! 🥺

No PC, so I can’t gpose (sob) but I wanted to draw a thing and I’m not sure whether or not to mark it for the, um, insinuations, buuuut better safe than sorry I guess??? 😳 #ffxiv #ffxivart #Azemet

“Who am I without you…?” #ffxiv #ffxivart #Emet-Selch

A drawing of Emet-Selch’s reflection in an ornate mirror circled in roses. He gazes down sadly at the Azem crystal glowing in his palms, contemplating who he is without Azem. A banner with the Garlean emblem on it rests on the wall behind him between two red curtains. The emblem looms over his head as he reflects on his own identity and the weight of his reality. I was aiming for lots of symbolism with the mirror, placements, shadows, and shades of red in this one! :)

Super happy with the results considering this was my third time over the course of a year attempting to draw this orz

“The Last First Kiss” Read from right-to-left, top-to-bottom. Page 1 of, like, 8… or something…… Idk yet it’s not done :( #ffxiv #ffxivart #Azemet

Context: Emet-Selch as Solus unwittingly befriends an Azem shard named (tbd???) “Estelle” in Garlemald prior to becoming the Emperor (long story) and he can’t help but entertain her impulsivity because her behaviors and looks more closely resemble those of Azem’s than any other reincarnation he’s encountered yet. In this scenario, she’s “borrowing” some horses to take him somewhere, and he’s annoyed as usual when it comes to her.

Read from right-to-left, top to bottom:

Solus: “What do you think you’re doing?” (Has she lost her mind?!)
Estelle: “Come now, Solus. It’s just a night ride. We’ll be back before anyone notices!”
Solus: “Surely, you must recognize the consequences of theft?”
Estelle: “I wouldn’t call it ‘theft.’ I am just borrowing her… and you will be ‘borrowing’ one of your own as well.”
Solus: “ ‘One of my own…?’ “
Estelle: “Oh, don’t look at me so… I did say I wanted to show you something, didn’t I? And besides… when have you ever known me to concern myself with consequences?”
Solus: “!!”
Estelle: “Shall we then?”
Solus: “Wait!”
Estelle: “I am perfectly capable of-“
Solus: “Ack!! Have some modesty, will you?!”
Estelle: “I am wearing bloomers, am I not?!”
Solus: “Aye! And I can see them!!”
Estelle: “To think a lady’s bloomers would have your britches in a bunch…”

That one time Emet-Selch became an oblivious Azem shard’s bff against his will in Garlemald before becoming the Emperor :) (it does not end well) Full page later!! #ffxiv #Azemet

A screenshot of a colored manga page where a dark-haired Garlean shard of Azem asks Solus with a smile, “when have you ever known me to concern myself with consequences?” This response surprises him, leaving him wide-eyed and speechless. This is just a little peek into the first page of this vignette!

This far into my story for them, she still doesn’t know the truth about either of their pasts or his true identity, and he is beginning to grow very tired of fighting his impulses to give in to his affection for a sundered fragment of his former lover. I’m expecting this vignette to be about six-eight pages long when it’s done! :)

Sorry I haven’t posted or responded to messages! We’ve had award ceremonies, grad night, and final processes to end the school year. Guys omg……. my first set of keychains are here…… im crYINg JUST LOOK AT THEM I’M???? #ffxiv #ffxivmerch

Chibi keychains I designed of Hades, Hythlodaeus, G’raha, and Haurchefant on various mounts. They have holographic borders and tiny flecks of glitter. Hythlodaeus’s (on Megalombystoma mount) and Hades’s (on Grani mount) keychain clasps are star-shaped. G’raha’s (on Mehwapyarra mount) keychain clasp is cat-shaped. Haurchefant’s (on a black chocobo without barding) keychain clasp (not pictured because I got excited) is heart-shaped.

Tried cleansing my palette with some angst again because art’s been so fluffy lately, but I might be playing with my toys a little too hard #wip

Wip of Emet and Eshii killing each other

But in all seriousness, the final piece, whenever I do hopefully finish it, will be of them at the brink of taking one another’s lives. The barrel of his gun will be pressed against her cheek, finger on the trigger, and the blade of her scythe will be hugging the curve of his neck (hoping I can pull off the anatomy/perspectives on all that.) All the while, the red string of fate is wound up all around them, holding them back from fighting while trying the pull them together in an embrace, tight enough beneath their tension to break. I wanna call this one “The webs we weave” whenever I do finish, and I love it so far :)

They share a one bedroom apartment in my heart #wip #Azemet #Solus

Work in progress of Emet-Selch appearing as Solus zos Galvus with a Garlean Azem shard blissfully sleeping against his shoulder while seated on his lap. They rest between two framed silhouettes; one belonging to Emet-Selch as Hades, and the other belonging to Azem. Hades’s silhouette is cast in a shadow, symbolizing his secret identity and grief, and the glass in Azem’s frame is shattered, symbolizing her sundered soul. Solus appears conflicted as his eyes wander toward Azem’s framed silhouette. Spoiler: they explode when she finds out he’s evil, and it triggers him. :)

I like to think Azem knew all along how it’d shake out and loved the WoL so much, they said, “I’m okay with giving up this chapter if it means they get to start theirs.” #ffxiv #ffxivart #Azem #WoL

Final Fantast 14 fan artwork of my Warrior of Light, Eshii, and my rendition of Azem. The two are suspended in darkness, Azem situated below, and Eshii situated above. They’re illuminated by the glow of the Azem crystal suspended between them, and situated between the cracked and broken pieces of my rendition of Azem’s mask. Each of their eyes are fixed on the crystal between the cracked mask, connecting their shared soul. Elpis flower petals glow along each of their faces, connecting their shared hope for the future.

Azem’s expression is relaxed but knowing as she gazes up at the crystal between the broken mask, signifying that she is at peace with the end of her chapter as Azem of the Convocation of Fourteen.

Eshii’s expression is more alert, curious, and generally joyful as she gazes at the crystal, signifying that she is ready to embrace the adventures ahead as the Warrior of Light and the bearer of Azem’s crystal.

Azem’s place below and Eshii’s place above represent Azem’s willingness to relinquish her future and “fall away” so that Eshii can “rise” from that to her own future.

This is just my perception of the game’s story! Obviously, Azem is a mysterious figure that we don’t know everything about, but in my mind, Azem knows and loves her “veritable star,” Eshii enough to want her to have that adventure :)

Bonus page for fun because Azem’s gotta stay being a pain in Emet’s side. Read from top-to-bottom, right-to-left :) #ffxiv #ffxivart #Azemet #Emet-Selch

Depicts a non-canonical instance that takes place some time after the Sundering of the Ancient World but before Emet-Selch’s meeting with the Warrior of Light in Shadowbringers from Final Fantasy 14.

Emet-Selch sorrowfully reflects on the Azem crystal he made in secret as it rains. While gazing at the crystal, something catches his eye. He looks down in disbelief to find a worm, curled into the shape of a heart, writhing in a shallow puddle at his feet. To his disbelief, his soul sight discerns that this very adventurous worm in trouble is, indeed, a reflection of Azem. He recalls a seemingly pointless conversation he’d had with Azem years before in which she’d asked him if he’d still love her were she a worm. Although frustrated, he decides to rescue the worm and move it where it will have a better chance of survival, referencing Azem’s way of calling on friends during times of need.

This is a bonus page for fun and giggles I made as a follow-up to the original “Would you still love me…?” story. It is read from top-to-bottom and right-to-left as you would read manga!

Emet-Selch and Hythlodaeus from Final Fantasy 14 dressed as Woody and Buzz Lightyear from Toy Story! Just a fun thing for Halloween.

Emet-Selch flashes Hythlodaeus an annoyed look as a blush crosses his cheeks; meanwhile, Hythlodaeus holds up Emet-Selch’s boot to show the viewer that it has “Azem” on the bottom of the boot rather than “Andy” and laughs brightly.
