Finished Control Resonant yesterday, and what I wanna say most is... I think it's so, so, so fucking cool how the game was able to dip its toe in an entirely different style of game, borrow its story telling ability, then go back to normal Control and cross the finish line. How does Remedy do it?

Just finished the Underpass area and... man. Most of my playtime has been doing as much side content as possible, (as well as taking down area bosses before becoming mandatory, lol), and now that I've been beelining main story stuff, this game has gone from really good to utterly incredible.

I knew Control Resonant wasn't gonna be nearly as much of a "multimedia" game as Alan Wake 2 was, but oh my god, the Underpass Fault had the most insane use of overlaid video footage. Absolutely incredible, inspired stuff. Wow. Wow.

Got the gravity shifting ability in Control Resonant and oh my god, the area you gotta navigate to get to the region's boss is absolutely ABSURD. I have an insanely good sense of direction, both IRL and in games, but grasping orientation? Good. God. I have the hardest time, IRL and in games

Played a bit of Control Resonant, (had a busy day at work and my son took longer than normal to sleep), but bruh, oh my god. It's even better than I expected, and I *only* beat the first mission. I am fucking ecstatic playing this. Elated. Elevating. I don't want to go to work tomorrow.

My fucking god, it's a marvel. I remember when I finally beat Control, I was thinking that while it felt like it was missing a certain something to elevate it beyond what it is... I still firmly believe it's one of the most stunning action games ever made. And of course, Alan Wake 2 is an all timer.

Beat it! Some later levels kinda kicked my ass, (mission 18), but I beat the game, OTL I liked it! Weirdly enough, the thing that caught my interest the most was... the land? Especially the cities. Seeing what I assume are to scale cities in low poly, but believable detail is suuuuuuper cool.

Settled on playing Alan Wake 2's DLC, as I will likely get Control Resonant on launch. I love Alan Wake 2 so much dude. I felt like the game was made in a lab just for me when it came out, and getting my hands on it again... yeah, I'm getting that feeling again. Video games, dude.

Always remember to check your old devices from time to time, just found that my very first mp3 player from 17 years ago had a spicy pillow that was not there a few months ago. Was gonna be sad, but I found that Aliexpress has a replacement battery for 5 bucks, so that's ok. Easy soldering fix.

The jump to making small open worlds was commendable, and still making them work under the formula of a "Metro" game is very cool to see... the final two levels being considerably more linear comparatively showed just how strong 4A Games skills lie in this.

Finally finished the first game since the birth of my son, Metro Exodus, ᕕ(ᐛ)ᕗ Having *finally* beat this after 7 years... I really liked it! Its definitely the weakest of the trilogy, but when 2033/Last Light are as phenomenal as they are, its a hard bar to clear.
