so.. thank you to my now fiance for indirectly making me fix my xiv glitches, i no longer suffer with bald people, disappearing environments, and random dcing as a result of it. just because i wanted to gpose nice pictures with him

TL;DR, the ENTIRE issue with having glitches on xiv was having directx 9... THATS IT... I DIDN'T EVEN GET TO HAVE A PROPER GOODBYE TO MY GLITCHES, I JUST NEEDED TO UPDATE TO THE NEWEST VERSION

so.. i was like fine. if i want to use the new reshade I guess I'll have to update it right? from what i understand, i still had directx 9 and i needed to update to directx 11 or something that was done directly on the xiv launcher... so i did and i got reshade to update too

anyways going back to the gpose part.. i legitimately did not know what he wanted to do lmao so in preparation i was like ok.. maybe i should update my reshade so i can take nicer pictures. BUT, the updated reshade required an update on my xiv launcher that for whatever reason i REFUSED to update

then THIS guy came along. this was during covid and everyone was going to the infamous The Establishment events. this was my first time attending and it was a WWE event, i accidentally got one of the wrestlers (my now fiance but thats another story lmao) bald

some glitches were unbearable.. i don't understand how i played xiv like this for like three whole years. i tried SO much to figure out the root cause but after a while i just accepted that was my life lol. tbh it really sucked but catching random bald npcs was amusing

by this point, i started to understand that once i started glitching, assets will stop loading randomly... BUT i could /somewhat/ control it by reloading in the map to "reset" what loads or doesn't load.. so what did I end up doing...?

late 2017 i started playing on Raine! i wanted to build it in her lore that sometimes she things that shouldn't be seen and became a healer to find a cure for it. her adventurer friend Maven just accepted Raine was a lil odd but tagged along with her anyways

i couldn't control what assets just magically disappear of course. sometimes me + npcs just get reduced to almost nothing... but estinien will always wear his helmet i guess

believe it or not, THIS was my first encounter with bald alphinaud. he was probably my first relevant npc that i found bald by accident and it made such an impact on me that i just started gposing with him lmfao. also look how horrendous the og ARR gear was before glam was pre-level 50 quest

the glitches were pretty bad. i think it took me a long time to actually get into xiv because this was a sign that i was going to dc very soon and I didn't understand the cause of it. i emailed support and they couldn't give me a solution either. i also had a newly built pc around this time!

a good ol friend of mine (Lilly) just wanted to show me around xiv for the first time.. she became my first bald victim but dear god the environment turned horrendous or just completely disappeared

[MEGA THREAD] Back in 2017-2020 I glitched... a lot! With screenshots to show my pain 😂 To preface, absolutely NO m*ds were used, only the occasional reshade. This started back in my early days as a sprout where certain assets just stopped loading after ~an hour of playing #cinnaglitches
