She has named this phenomena herself, called HZR (habitual zone regression). HZR is an issue because you have no sweat glands, yet your heat proofing is diminished. Treatment seems to be exposure therapy until it's back to normalcy.

3. This was kinda already declared, but Astrocytes have no sweat glands because they are evolved very heavily to handle heat just fine. Their Venus clone of a planet can reach up to 900 F. Novae is the first case of one of them losing their resistance to heat from living in a habitual zone. +

2. Astrocytes have localized cracks in their forms. This is a normal occurrence, and just happens due to the strange nature of their epithelial tissues. In fact, it means they're healthy. However, Novae hides them because she is embarrassed and also doesn't want humans to question them as much.
