The Mariners went through an exciting young crop a few years ago that would have the outfield and 1B set for a long time. Jake Fraley being one of them. He’s found a niche with the Reds which is cool to see. Hopefully this next class of exciting talent develops better! #CardSky

Mail day courtesy of my mom! 24 Topps Pristine J Rod ASG Gold. I think Pristine is pretty underrated as a set and has some clean designs. #Cardsky

I’m not the biggest fan of ripping non-licensed cards, but sometimes finding the designs in the wild for cheap are a fun pickup. Mosaic Reactive Red Mitch Haniger #Cardsky

Wave Wednesday 🌊 22 SCC Matt Brash Wave refractor. Only got a couple more, a third got lost in the mail unfortunately. The goal is to get all of the Mariners in these. Currently have 11, have a lot more to go but it’s a fun hunt!

Mail Day! Got the black refractor counterpart to the gold! Not sponsored, I’ve been using Collx the last couple months and have found some really cool things not listed on ebay or listed at better prices. This being one of them! I guess I have to get the rest of the rainbow now #cardsky

Anyone ever just stumble upon a pile of cards they forgot they put somewhere? I knew I had this, just forgot where it was until this morning! 22 Topps Chrome Black Cal Raleigh auto refractor! Picked this up on a trip to portland a year or so ago, glad I found it! #cardsky

Happy Sunday! Here’s a 21 topps japan kyle seager jade /75. I find japan and uk have some pretty nice and different parallels, the Gold is even nicer oddly. This is the only international topps set Seager is in. I missed out on the 1/1 a couple months ago, if the owner sees this dm me! #cardsky

Another 01 Gold! Mike Cameron was a great Mariner. He’s come back to burn sage in the locker room multiple times the last couple years. A great Mariner! #Cardsky

Flipped and saved to get a big card today. In the mean time here’s my favorite card from growing up. Not the exact one but I have that one in a binder at my parents. 2002 Topps Total Award Winners Ichiro #Cardsky

When I first got back into the hobby I bought into a ton of breaks, “why would I spend $20 on one box and get a ton of non Mariners when I could just buy a break and get only Mariners” I thought. These where my two best cards. I buy singles now. Trammel /25 though! #cardsky

BlueSky was acting weird for me today. Here’s a recent PC pickup: 2010 Bowman Chrome Kyle Seager Blue Refractor /150. I got 6/10 cards I ordered off ebay that have been marked delivered, fingers crossed the rest come over the holidays. Really happy this one came #cardsky

I’ve ordered 10 cards the last two weeks. I have four delivered and the rest in limbo, here’s one of the ones I got: 2004 Topps Chrome Mike Cameron Gold Refractor. May be a hot take, but the M’s did the unthinkable in 2000: Trade Griffey and win the Griffey trade. #cardsky

Here’s a cool Haniger museum collection dual patch auto. I bought this randomly when I first got back into cards. Haniger has been a good Mariner in spite of his health issues and struggles. I’ll keep a little corner of the collection for him #cardsky

Good morning! During Millers rookie year I got to watch one of his early starts when the M’s played in Detroit. My buddy and I kept yelling “It’s Miller time!” at the beginning of each inning. I also got a home run ball from Kelenic. Awesome memory and had to get a card of his. #cardsky

Made it back home from travel. Posting the last card I got while visiting family in Spokane. Cougs Couged it, lost their OC to Oklahoma, fired their DC, and may lose Mateer. BUT game used patch of one of the Cougs best QBs is always cool #cardsky

Goodmorning everyone! Here’s some Kyle Seagers I like. Huge fan of the 2002 design and I think it’s fun that 2020 archives has it in a ton of parallels. The top is a chrome heritage I found randomly in a dollar bin at a hobby shop in Wisconsin. #cardsky

Picked these up at a new card shop. I got to see Cade Marlowe’s first hit, so there’s a small spot for him in the collection. I love the pitching staff the Ms have. Cal Raleigh is my girlfriends favorite player #cardsky

A few more from my black friday pick ups-Jason Gesser was the man in the early 2000’s for the Cougs. I didn’t know who Ryan Doumit is (looked him up after) but I love early 2000’s topps chrome refractors and I had to add it to the pile #cardsky

Here’s a random one-After going to watch the Mariners play the White Sox in Chicago, Brian O’Keefe stopped to take a picture with Lyndsay and I. Couldn’t tell you the score of the game, but certainly remember the picture. Been a fan of his since #cardsky

Picked up a few cards today while black friday shopping that I’ll slowly share over the next couple of days. I got a couple “you’re maybe the only guy looking for Kyle Seager” while out today which was fun. The big hit from today: 2010 Bowman Chrome Kyle Seager Purple Refractor #cardsky

Not my card, here’s the ebay listing if anyone wants to get it. Saw this browsing and wanted to share this awesome image on an insert. May just be me, but I feel Julio’s been done dirty on a lot of images of cards. It’s either trident, smiling, or him standing it feels #cardsky

Having my morning coffee and wanted to share a cool Griffey with everyone from a niche set. In 2001 when topps debuted the gold /year borders they retro’d a ton of iconic rookies, including Griffey. This is the only year the border was flashy and looks amazing in hand #cardsky

There’s a portion of my PC called the “lyndsay collection” for the cards I’m gifted by my girlfriend. She doesn’t understand why I collect cardboard pictures of men for a hobby but is willing to go to games with me and we have had a ton of fun traveling to new stadiums #cardsky

Here’s one from the “To Grade” pile. 21 topps update jarred kelenic 70 years of topps insert auto /10. I got back into baseball and the hobby in 2021, Kelenic was the big M’s prospect at the time. I still want him to succeed for that reason #cardsky

Riley @modernmscards.bsky.social · 20/11/2024

One thing I wish Topps did with the change to SCC was keep the wave refractors. The inserts are around 300 or so in print run (~3x odds of green /99) and the players are ~15 or so (1/2 orange /25). Hard to show design in pictures but in hand they’re awesome with the photography #cardsky
