And if you're questioning what kind of sway WWE had with USCIS in the late 2010s, I have a July 2016 email that I got via a FOIA request where it was explicitly stated that they rubber-stamped WWE work visa petitions without question:

There is no labor organization that would cover WWE wrestlers, we have historically approved such petitions. On
another note, we have debated the following: "Is the beneficiary an athlete or entertainer?" This has been historically
debated and argued before, all the way to SCOPS. Answer from SCOPS: The beneficiaries are considered P-1A athletes,
not entertainers.
I routinely approve WWE petition for their wrestlers without question.

Denis,
Can you think of a labor org that would cover WWE Wrestlers?

Since WWE's trying to exploit PAC's death, it's time to talk about this: Remember how PAC suddenly had visa issues when AEW started? That's because, when the AEW trademarks were filed, WWE called USCIS to claim he walked out on his visa. After leaving him alone for a year and giving him his release.

If it took until 2026 to give AEW a chance, you are not a pro wrestling fan, you are a WWE fan. Those content creators are frauds chasing clicks & engagement. Please stop sharing their lame "I like AEW now" videos.

Happy #AEWALLIN day to all the pro wrestling fans that wanted and demanded an alternative that has delivered countless incredible moments & memories. Pro wrestling is the greatest art form on earth & no company epitomizes that more than AEW. LFG!!!

imo, AEW Redemption had 7 ****+ matches (ladder, Bucks, Fletcher, Jericho, Andrade, Willow & the main event) so I don't understand any of the nonsense today. If that's not a top-tier pay-per-view, then nothing is. That show unapologetically whipped ass.

All mentions of Aew removed. Justin labar previewed summerscam and raw this morning. No aew mentions. He hyped the top 5 matches from last week. 4 wwe and 1 tna match. "But nothings gonna change" #AewRedemption

The NXT Great American Bash special on The CW appeared to do very poor ratings, but an industry source told me that likely doesn't matter. More here: npw-the-news-of-pro-wrestling.ghost.io/every-networ...

Screenshot of text:

An interesting development took place last month, when The CW aired its first NXT special – the Great American Bash – directly opposite AEW's Forbidden Door. In comparison to the weekly show, the special drew about half the audience and appeared to be a failure. Our industry source did not see it that way.

“The CW doesn’t have any real programming on Sunday nights, usually airing a movie or syndicated content,” the industry source explained. “Yes, that number didn’t look good, but I’m guessing CW was fine with it. I don’t understand the counter-programming strategy from the CW’s point of view, but it’s still another special event they can promote.”

There has never been a price tag revealed about the NXT specials on the CW, so there are unconfirmed rumors WWE gave them to the CW for free after they didn’t receive good offers on the open market. If true, those shows are then simply an add-on for the CW, who would be happy to run it whenever.

"they gave away a world title change" AEW didn't "give away" anything. They delivered for their fans. That should be celebrated, not criticized.

This is a bigger story than anyone in pro wrestling media realizes. In 2023, an ESPN exec told me they kept tabs on AEW but he assumed they'd stay with WBD. ESPN now wants more ppv matches because they want WWE to be more like AEW. Hello, buyer's remorse.

Biggest breakout star from Forbidden Door may have been Walker Stewart. That booth had too many people & it worked tremendously. If I'm Tony Khan, he doesn't go back to Japan without signing a contract of some sort.
