Not all shoes are made for walking, some are made for display. 👠 In "Fictions of Display" on view now at MOCA Grand Avenue, shoes become props, stages become stories, and display becomes performance. Which one would you wear? Tag yourself!

Yes, that really is a flying cat. 🐈✈️ In Untitled (The Flying Cat), 1994, Richard Billingham captures his dad Ray—cider in hand—dodging the unexpected. Both comic and raw, his photographs turn everyday family life into images full of humor, tenderness, and humanity. #WorldPhotographyDay

Painting the sea—No coastline required.✨🐚 Takako Yamaguchi’s vivid seascapes draw from a myriad of references: fashion magazines, books, Japanese aesthetics, 20th century design. The result? A richly layered and luminous body of work she calls “abstractions in reverse.”

Happy Birthday, Donald Judd! Known for his precise forms, industrial materials, and radical approach to space, Judd was a pioneer of Minimalism, but always resisted the label. From New York to Marfa, his work continues to remind us that simplicity can be deeply complex.

This past February, MOCA presented the US premier of Wael Shawky’s celebrated film installation ‘Drama 1882’. Debuted at the Egyptian Pavilion of the 2024 Venice Biennale, ‘Drama 1882’ is a spectacular restaging of historical events, and explores Shawky’s interest in historical counter-narratives.
