Not surprising that I really enjoy Avylone’s work and the experience of working with her. Get in the queue, it’ll be worth it.

🍎 Alt summer version! 🍎

Same as the spring image, but in a summer setting instead! Cherry tree is an apple tree instead and it's sunset.

Rhiain and Adeline are having a picnic under a cherry blossom tree! They're enjoying eachothers company and the spring wind.

Mutual friending should simply be a privacy toggle, divorce it from this neither-fish-nor-fowl system!

😫 The problem was never that people would see me playing Hearthstone… This is just a level of WoW intimacy that I don’t want to extend to everyone! As a secondary option, a tier between bnet and character friend, sure, but not as the norm.

I do genuinely worry retail RP’s health. I’m afraid the best-case scenario is it becomes smaller and more niche, the worst case it spirals.

020

Em Shep @mnshep.bsky.social · 06/10/2026

I really don’t think they have the luxury to proceed in the usual fashion through to the TLT reveal. They need to reclaim positive attention. I’ve seen some people say “they didn’t think wowf would be this popular!” but I think “they didn’t think retail would be struggling this bad” is also true.

020

Em Shep @mnshep.bsky.social · 06/10/2026

I heard Tali say on stream the other day that he felt the retail devs were “being gracious” in giving wowf the spotlight right now but holy moly they’re not in a good position to be doing that right now. I’m sure they didn’t plan to be in such a lull when wowf was in beta, but it’s not good.

Behooves me to say it more, but I am grateful for your work because I know when I see your name behind a project that it’s been done with care and understanding.

Wild how much the world used to change. Cata is SIX years into WoW. They blew up the Vale after a couple of patches! And yet… Westfall tornado keeps blowing in 2026. I yearn to fix things. If you did Ahn’Qiraj war effort-style farms to fix up destroyed towns, I would spend all day doing it.

Probably not happening right now but I would simply die of happiness if Dance Studio (and other animation choices) made it into TLT as the ultimate closed loop.

It's Welsh, so it can be a bit tough for someone not practiced, but the normal way I say to pronounce it is Rhee-eye-n Pri-th-ee.

For ~18 years, being a nelf and a belf and finally human, Rhiain was named Indis. I couldn’t keep it when I server transferred a few years back but I’ll always remember her being named after Fëanor’s stepmom

I wonder about that, the post from the dev about this felt quite vibes-based to me. Which, to be clear, I don’t necessarily mind! I think having weirdo visionaries usually makes for a more interesting product, good or bad. This particular instance is a weird one to draw the hard line on, imo. 🤷‍♀️

Em Shep @mnshep.bsky.social · 20/09/2026

And frankly we’ll never have Justice in any faction situation because the players hate to feel like they lose. But I wouldn’t mind having Big Evil Bad get got in a cathartic moment. Khadgar stuffing Xal’atath into a new receptacle while saying “for Dalaran” or whatever.

Em Shep @mnshep.bsky.social · 20/09/2026

What I’d love to see is less focus on the big characters and more on randos, because fundamentally the kings and queens have to make decisions based on realpolitik. Joe Kaldorei or Sally Gilnean isn’t going to forgive the Horde, but they also probably don’t want to be at war either.
