Welcome to the world of flight, monarch 2026 #1 otherwise named Kafka. This “catch and release” monarch was getting ready to form its chrysalis over our sidewalk. To ensure it wasn’t injured, my 5 year old and I moved the caterpillar inside to our herb drying rack.

The indoor garden is feeling spicy after all the neglect. Cymbidium Aloifolium or aloe-leaved orchid, is a native of Southeast Asia. Smelling of sandalwood and vanilla, this 30 lb plant blooms after a dry and cool season in the basement under LEDs. #bloomscrolling #horticulture #orchids

Happy #Sunday, friends. Today I chose joy. This is a work in progress with #legos and similar bricks. Always a collaborative effort, V (4.5 years) and I took some second hand Legos that had been partially assembled and added a bit of sci fi mystery to a water garden. The story is developing.

Sand colored Lego blocks and arches are built around water garden with white lilies, pond plants, and transparent blue blocks. A bit of metallic gold is utilized from a second hand Lego set of unknown origin.

Sound check at the Marjorie McNeely Conservatory in St.Paul, Minnesota. V and I hung out in the sunken garden, just the two of us, for quite some time. The Summer Flower Show features tropicals like bromeliads, elephant ears, bananas and cannas. We felt like we were back in the bush for a moment.
