Both large- and small-scale solar and wind are now critical infrastructure, and that makes their centralized management systems a tempting target for foreign adversaries such as Russia and Iran and their proxies.

I wrote a piece for the local paper that, in part, explained how much energy AI queries, video streaming, etc. used at the data center. There's a real disconnect here: People and businesses associate data center energy use with the AI companies and don't see themselves contributing to it.

China hasn’t merely expanded state hacking—it has industrialized it. Private contractors give Beijing scale, stealth, and plausible deniability, and also make it harder for cyber defenders to trust IP reputation. Get more details from my latest CSO piece. 1/2 www.csoonline.com/article/4217...

How China industrialized the infrastructure behind state hacking
The FBI’s takedown of QTFY exposes how China’s reliance on private cyber contractors gives state hackers scale and stealth. It also underscores why CISOs can no longer trust IP reputation alone.

A Boston news station aired a story a few weeks ago about a fire that burned two homes. They speculated that the Tesla between them started the fire. The next night, they reported that the fire actually started under a porch, but that didn't completely undo the damage to safety perception of EVs.

For context, most gas-powered cars of that era topped out at around 40mph. Bad roads often kept speeds to 20mph or lower. Most early electrics were sold in urban areas with charging infrastructure. Unreliable, short-lived batteries were a major reason early EVs didn't succeed.
