Everyone pushing this first is jumping the gun that Dems win. Dems just need to win first. Then if that happens the markets just don’t go on as if nothing is happening and the public will not stand for it.

Oh and thank you Jared Polis.

2 GOP lawyers are going to seize 100m votes across thousands of precincts? It’ll be an avalanche on election week. They won’t know what to do.

Always nice to open this to polls like this. Thanks

In 2012 and 2014 polls like these were “close” and in the margin of error but the GOP won them all because undecideds broke towards them. Incumbents at or around 45 looked like they might pull it out but they lost. Undecideds are likely lean R. That and turnout will decide if it’s a wave or tsunami.

Well if this is a Hyrox competition he could still win.

The voters have to make the choice. It somehow all depends on what the democrats do. They are doing the work. Vote for them.

He should do it now.

If he wanted to give $5k he could give it now. There’s no reason to wait.

Florida has been beyond a disappointment. It’s been a blood bath and lost cause. So these numbers are truly refreshing and indicative of trends at the very least. For the Dems to have a national wave it should show up everywhere.

Senator Manchin says he’s a no. It would be inflationary. Sinema too…

Only Laura Ingram is qualified to say such a thing.

Haha, like clockwork Nader shows up. He has nothing valuable to say or listen to.

Let’s not panic and dissuade many people from voting. There’s early, in-person voting that takes place for days in many states. Also this ruling is likely to be stopped. But spreading this notion that it will take all day to vote is doing their job for them. Don’t panic.
2102
Mauro Mautone @mmmautone.bsky.social · 01/09/2026
That depends on the state. Take advantage of early, in-person voting whenever possible. Many states have it.

I see this as a sign of energy on the Dem side that pollsters don’t have confidence in modeling. Instead they predict young voters turning out to vote El-Sayed which doesn’t happen but then fail to catch Stevens voters who vote on perceived electability and show up reliably.
000
Mauro Mautone @mmmautone.bsky.social · 13/08/2026
Polls impact turnout. You’d have expected Stevens voters to be unmotivated given the polls showing her likely losing to El-Sayed but instead they essentially tied with record turnout. Cornyn could have beaten Paxton if all of his voters turned out in the runoff but they stayed home because of polls.

Mauro Mautone @mmmautone.bsky.social · 12/08/2026
When primaries are unexpectedly high turnout the polls will get less reliable if they assumed a less energetic race. MI was a blowout in turnout. Doubt pollsters go out on a limb and predict that.

Well 60k at 93% reporting is big. Really a throw away vote in either direction but probably to Stevens detriment. I mean, make a real choice.

Yeah but enough time to make up a big portion of her share

Didn’t she withdraw after early voting started too?

This has to be the early McMorrow vote before she dropped out.

You would expect both to improve after the primary as the party coalesces in this environment although Stevens has less of a hill to climb.
110
Mauro Mautone @mmmautone.bsky.social · 05/08/2026
The primary has taken a toll on both but Stevens is the stronger general election candidate from the jump.

Carter was barely able to win post watergate in 1976 and lost to Reagan in 1980 so I don’t think mentioning the 70s isn’t appropriate. How well did McGovern do?

Mauro Mautone @mmmautone.bsky.social · 07/07/2026
This new generation seems intent on learning the hard way how liberals lose elections like the 70s and 80s.

Mauro Mautone @mmmautone.bsky.social · 03/07/2026
And then the electorate decides to give Ds no national power and people look to the “Leaders” as if they are the ones that are supposed to represent the whole party and lead the way while having no power to really do anything but scream.
010
Mauro Mautone @mmmautone.bsky.social · 03/07/2026
Also people are confusing the term “Leader.” They lead their congressional caucuses. They are not leaders of the party, per se. They have to do unpopular things and they almost always are unpopular with most people. But they come from safe seats for that reason.

Mauro Mautone @mmmautone.bsky.social · 27/06/2026
People need to get an education and earn high wages to earn a home. It’s folly to think we’ll go back to 2000 home prices or 1990 prices just by building. When has that ever happened without catastrophic consequences for the economy?
000
Mauro Mautone @mmmautone.bsky.social · 27/06/2026
This is pie in the sky thinking. People like their high property values. Anyone wanting to buy cheap now will be protective of price appreciation. American wealth is tied to home values and they like being wealthy because of it.
000
Mauro Mautone @mmmautone.bsky.social · 24/06/2026
You think new housing will be cheap? It will sell for the prevailing market price not “affordable” just because. How much do you think people think housing is too expensive by? 10%? I think 50-75%. You’d have to crash housing prices to get that kind of reduction.
200
Mauro Mautone @mmmautone.bsky.social · 24/06/2026
Because the suppliers are not willing to build for what the demand is offering, otherwise it would be built. There are many places where one can get a starter home but it’s not the perfect place or location. Crashing the housing market is not a solution.
100
Mauro Mautone @mmmautone.bsky.social · 24/06/2026
Well there are many reasons the exurbs were born, a lot had to do with white flight and racism. But the point is new areas were developed based on demand.
100
Mauro Mautone @mmmautone.bsky.social · 24/06/2026
Sorry misunderstood. You’re saying the starter people move into McMansions.
100
Mauro Mautone @mmmautone.bsky.social · 24/06/2026
What was this meant to say?
100
Mauro Mautone @mmmautone.bsky.social · 24/06/2026
New areas are developed. New cities founded. People gentrifying decaying areas. There’s plenty of area in major metros that are under developed because people don’t want to live there. I don’t know what you’re trying to say by telling people to move out of their houses.
200
Mauro Mautone @mmmautone.bsky.social · 24/06/2026
When there are shortages supply is more likely to follow. Telling people who live in McMansions to move out and share their spaces is beyond unrealistic.
100
Mauro Mautone @mmmautone.bsky.social · 24/06/2026
That’s a realistic as saying we’ll be building bases on Mars. It’s a free country. People buy big houses because they can.
100
Mauro Mautone @mmmautone.bsky.social · 24/06/2026
Go build some then if you think the market is missing something. No one is stopping people from developing in general. You want your first home to be in downtown places like Manhattan or San Fran good luck.
200
Mauro Mautone @mmmautone.bsky.social · 24/06/2026
Home prices are dictated by supply and demand. If you’re selling and demand an extra 25k because you suspect the buyer is a new homeowner you’ll likely not sell the place.
100
Mauro Mautone @mmmautone.bsky.social · 24/06/2026
Nothing is perfect. Not everyone is a first time buyer. I don’t think that the market would intrinsically know to price something in that’s deducted on income tax returns. Car companies isn’t jack up their prices do EVs just because there was a rebate.
