Ok, after hearing Manaea’s postgame interview, I feel kinda bad for the players. How weird it is to be in your home ballpark and your *own fans* are cheering the opposition — even after they tie the game. It’s not the players’ fault Pete isn’t here anymore. #Mets

Pete’s 300th would’ve been a lot more fun had the #Mets not lost.

To be honest, no better place for him to hit it. I wish it hadn’t been to tie the game, but that’s Pete. Clutch personified.

In all honesty, Cohen isn’t blameless here. Letting Pete walk was clearly Stearns’ idea, but Cohen’s signing the paychecks. Yes, I know what he said about wanting to let Stearns put his stamp on the team, but he could’ve stepped in when he saw where the wind was blowing. He didn’t.

Yes, the #Mets lost 2 of 3 to the White Sox. But it came down to the bottom of the ninth in both of those losses, and in our win we were dominant. Considering Chicago is a first-place, playoff-bound team, I’m impressed with how we held our own.
