Feb 22, 1943 Sophie Scholl was beheaded by guillotine by the Gestapo in Munich for high treason. She and the White Rose resistance movement distributed leaflets by hand calling for non-violent resistance to the Nazi Regime. Her brother&white rose member Christoph Probst were also beheaded that day

it’s been 80 years since the concentration camps in Europe were liberated. I was just watching a documentary about “Stolpersteine” brass plate memorial blocks placed in front of the places they lived before they were deported.

These modest crosses represent some of the people killed during the Nazi Period in Austria. Patients buried here were from a psychiatric hospital nearby. Gruesome experiments were performed on them. May they rest in some kind of peace.
