Friday How To thread This is the "Alpine Butterfly Loop," aka "butterfly knot", "Swiss loop". It's useful because you don't need access to the type ends, and when the end are pulled, the loop doesn't close like a slipknot. I find this method the easiest.

New self-paced training for open scholarship

Build practical open scholarship skills at your own pace with COS’s new Open Scholarship Training for Researchers Series

The Center for Open Science (COS) has launched the Open Scholarship Training for Researchers Series, a new set of online courses you can complete at your own pace.

A great place to start — or to share with others — is Fundamentals of Open Scholarship, our free introductory course covering core open scholarship practices and how they support more transparent, accessible, and reproducible research.

For those already familiar with open scholarship, the course can serve as a refresher or an easy on-ramp to recommend to students, colleagues, or partners who are newer to these practices.
