Meinst du Earthsea? Die Adaption wurde doch von seinem Sohn Goro umgesetzt und weder Hayao noch Le Guin waren besonders angetan vom Ergebnis. www.ursulakleguin.com/adaptation-t...

My first solo-authored article has just been published in Publizistik. 🙌 Please find "What is left of BreadTube? Situational Analysis of a fragmenting leftist YouTube counterpublic" here (OA): tinyurl.com/2wnvau2t It has been some time in the making, so I am really pleased to see it out there now. ✨

This framework facilitated insights into the complex and dynamic constellation of perspectives and segments BreadTube is composed of and illuminated arenas in which adverse interests overlap and conflict arises over questions of representation, legitimacy, shared history, and resource allocation.

To properly account for the high level of intertextual referentiality as well as the algorithmic interrelatedness of the videos shared in the controversy, I adapted Adele Clarke’s approach of Situational Analysis to integrate both interpretative mapping and computational network analysis.

My contribution investigates an internal controversy within the YouTube counterpublic “BreadTube”, to reconstruct the tacit assumptions of various participants about the public’s aims, values, shortcomings as well as its platform environment and economic and technological prerequisites.

New publication 📄✨ Very grateful to have been part of this project researching the biographical pathways of young Germans and Poles into radical right-wing activism/political careers. Learned so much from my brilliant colleagues and glad to now see our findings out in Current Sociology 🤓

✨Really happy this is out: I co-authered a paper on how quali-quanti visual methods can be used to study political bot-networks across multiple social media platforms 🤖 jdsr.se/ojs/index.ph... For me, it's the very first peer-reviewed article published! Very grateful to be part of this project 🤓

Adele E. Clarke (1945-2024) sadly passed away on Friday. A student of Anselm L. Strauss, she expanded Grounded Theory into Situational Analysis, married Symbolic Interactionism to STS and contributed immensely to the study of biomedicine. Met her in 2006. profiles.ucsf.edu/adele.clarke
