for example, today I cracked open die trying ch4 to work on it a little on my lunch break and realized I completely forgot to write like half the things I wanted to cover pre-challenge and contemplated just drop kicking my entire laptop. anyways, cheers!

If you’re ever wondering to yourself “Wow, meowmix hasn’t written much lately, what the hell is he even doing?” I’m going crazy at work

@meowmixmarlene.bsky.social I feel like the amount of questions I’ve asked you is actually insane so if you have a problem with it please let me know. In the mean time, for the TSDBTP, when MK has that fallout with her mom, when did her mom eventually talk to her again and what was it about?

And something something realizing you’re gay/have feelings for your best friend at the worst possible time. Haven’t decided if those feelings will be reciprocated or not because my mind says “aww no that’s sad” but my heart says “yesss painnnn”

The shame and the guilt! I had a moment™️ last year and wrote a 16k mkayne comphet oneshot that really boiled down to “getting into a relationship because you couldn’t think of a reason to say no and now you feel like shit because he’s good to you but everything feels wrong” (:

Imagine trying to drop hints to a girl that you like her and she’s like “Oh yeeeeah I’m suuuure anyways check out this girl I’m going on a date with that looks just like you” which could mean nothing

Instead of “too afraid to like each other” I want to go in the opposite direction with “they like each other but are playing 4D chess because neither wants to ‘lose’ and be the one that initiates”

I think Julia would’ve eventually given up, sat with the feelings of being abandoned, hardened herself and came out the other side better. MK probably would’ve just drifted (if she didn’t freeze to death) and hopefully come to her senses in like her 40s or something and feel overwhelmed with grief

nana @mksstolenwallet.bsky.social · 14/05/2025

@meowmixmarlene.bsky.social What would have happened in a hypothetical that Julia never stopped MK from running away/didn’t catch her in time? As in, at the very end of the story, would MK have eventually gone back to Julia or would Julia go on a goose chase to find her?

In general, if you ONLY read your genre, what you come out with will be bad copies of bad copies. To create interesting, compelling characters and settings you have to, as this person says, have intellectual interests outside of that.
