The Maryland Board of Revenue Estimate met yesterday to discuss the close-out of fiscal year 2026 (last fiscal year) updated estimates for fiscal year 2027 (the current fiscal a year), and the first estimates for fiscal year 2028 (the next fiscal year).

The Red Line shutdown has made for a challenging summer and the years long Purple Line work has been frustrating, so it was great to get a first hand look at the progress being made today on the new Bethesda station mezzanine and Purple Line connection on the south side of the station.

For several years, we’ve heard concerns about cars improperly using out of state plates. We changed the law to expand the ability of the Motor Vehicle Administration and law enforcement to issue fines to residents who fail to properly register their vehicles in the state where they primarily reside.

As part of the annual budget, the Maryland Department of Environment must provide monthly status reports on the Potomac Interceptor breach. The breach is DC Water’s responsibility, but still Maryland’s problem. You can read the first report here: tinyurl.com/ybnyu8t2
