This would be from the start of next season, right? You can't introduce a new member to any league when the competition has already begun, surely?

They absolutely should have the book thrown at them if the PL wants to keep integrity. A huge pts deduction leading to relegation means nothing. They would be back competing for titles in 2 seasons. Where's the punishment there? Makes a mockery of the whole thing and acts as no deterrent to others

Lee, what the hell are you on about!?

Mark @mkb1892.bsky.social · 26/09/2026
Aye, but I think those (& others) I've mentioned are happy with a system that allows them to competitively challenge us / villa. I don't think they'd like a system which would close that off, which is why I think they've previously voted in favour of the "big 6". Bit of a symbiotic relationship

Good read 👍🏻 My only thought about a big 14, is teams who punch above their weight, AFCB, BFC, CPFC etc. won't want to eradicate a system in place which sees them level with the likes of AVFC, NUFC, EFC. The more clubs at the top table, the harder it is for those below to compete on any level.

Genuinely, what is the point of a 30-40 point deduction for Man City? Even if it relegates them, they'll spend one season out the premier league, come back and go on like nothing has happened. If the verdict is upheld, it needs a proportional punishment, if not then PSR / SCR is meaningless.

We also have the NUFC circle badge. And wouldn't using this badge, or a variation of it, make the current one retro? Saw some of the man u lot wearing their originals gear yesterday with their retro badge from the 80's ( I guess ) and it's hardly changed from the current one

Mark @mkb1892.bsky.social · 14/09/2026
The whole "no circle" argument I think was a mis-step from the club. I understand the argument if your club has never had a circle badge, but we've had two in the past and both remain very popular with the fanbase.

Mark @mkb1892.bsky.social · 14/09/2026
These all look smart and it really begs the question; if NUFC are happy using that badge on 'originals' merchandise (which will sell out quickly, btw) and we're happy using it on our away shirt then why haven't we looked as that as a viable option for the "new" badge!?

Quite clear that there is still work to be done on the training pitch, overall I'm still fairly positive. #NUFC

I just do not understand that decision from Baylor there! My only theory is that Lagway is fucked and they wanted the game done! #NCAAF

You can't win an argument against a reformer. They use any facts to strengthen their case but dismiss any facts you have against them. Had any other party leader received a £5m donation & left it undeclared, or had any other party accepted foreign donation funds, Reform would be first to attack!

Was pretty much the final straw for me on twitter. Some of the stuff on that platform towards Howe was vile. Completely ignoring how he's transformed the club. Those same "fans" started kissing his arse again when he stepped down. Fucking idiots the lot of them.

Flash Scores have updated their ratings system. Apparently this now produces a more accurate result of player performance. But I'm looking at these ratings below and I'm absolutely baffled! #nufc

That Arsenal's highest ever player sale is £35m and that was NINE years ago tells you all you need to know about a rigged system. #nufc

I still think they're waiting to see what eventually happens with Man City and these 115 charges. They're supposedly guilty as sin but if they get off lightly then that's surely the green light for us to buy our way to the top?

I agree, but I think my point is, we've got absolutely nothing available to us to base any sort of meaningful prediction of how this season is going to go. I completely understand why there's pessimism but also agree it could work out ok - we just don't know. Literally anyone's guess.

Mark @mkb1892.bsky.social · 17/08/2026
The negativity is completely understandable tbh. In the last 12 months we've lost our 4 best players and our manager. We've replaced them with younger players and a young manager from overseas with no PL experience between them. That's, at best, a coin flip to whether it works or not. A huge risk.

It's pre season so, pinch of salt and all that but in an off season of massive upheaval, they've looked quite poor today. There are TINY glimpses where you can see the way we're trying to press and quickly turnover but it's overshadowed by huge lulls in play & heart in mouth moments at the back.

Really don't like the space Leverkusen are finding out wide. So easy to get into dangerous positions and it needs quickly addressing!

Are they going to struggle to adapt* that should have read.

Mark @mkb1892.bsky.social · 13/08/2026
Too many unknowns to accurately predict this season. Are these young players going to hit the ground running or are they going to adapt, is Jaissle going to effectively implement his system or is the squad too thin to play exactly how he wants? My guess is lower mid table, but it's based on little.

Seen a few NUFC accounts across different platforms wishing Bruno an horrific injury after his move to Arsenal. I always held our fanbase in high regard but guess I'm wrong. A sad opinion to have against a player who was key to our success over the last 4 seasons and who wore the shirt with pride.

The key is closing the commercial and match day revenue gap but will we ever under current systems in place? From an ownership point of view, the richer we get means the better we (should) get but we need to outgrow as many clubs as possible.

Mark @mkb1892.bsky.social · 12/08/2026
It's very intriguing and does show that there are reasons to be optimistic especially if he can effectively implement his style + sign a few more! I can't help but completely agree with the tail end of the video though, if all we are now is a development feeder club for others, what's the point?

Mark @mkb1892.bsky.social · 09/08/2026
CL should be a straight knockout, no seeded teams and it should be exactly what it's named, a competition for champions. Of course, though, money talks.

Mark @mkb1892.bsky.social · 09/08/2026
The thing which grates the most is that Chelsea and Man City front loaded debt to buy themselves into this elite group. Their revenues now are enormous but they had to spend obscene money to get there. It's surely anti competition if you let some clubs do it but then say "no more"

My love for NUFC will never die but it's shit playing in a league hell bent on protecting the interests of a handful of clubs - some of which are hundreds of millions of pounds in debt! Yet clubs such as NUFC, AVFC, NFFC are continually hamstrung.
020
Mark @mkb1892.bsky.social · 09/08/2026
And the media absolutely love it. Football at the top is dead unless you're fortunate enough to be a fan of the big 6. Try and uproot them and there's systems in place to support them but stifle us. I can't be the only NUFC fan currently looking at this and thinking "what's the point?" ?

£45m for James Trafford, £130k wages per week. Man City have the same buy back clause they had when Trafford was at Burnley and now a 20% sell on fee!? Leeds have been properly done there! They take all the risks with limited upside!

Mark @mkb1892.bsky.social · 06/08/2026
He has acted in his interests, I agree. Given the circumstances I've mentioned though I can understand, despite how gutting it is to lose him! It's just how it goes in football sometimes. It hasn't tarnished his NUFC reputation for me though, he's still a legend in my eyes. As you say, onwards.

Mark @mkb1892.bsky.social · 06/08/2026
Fair enough, you've got your opinion. I don't particularly hold any bad blood or bitterness towards him like I do with Isak or did with Sissoko for example. I'll instead remember what he achieved here and what he did for the club as a whole. That's his legacy in my eyes. Feel free to disagree. 👍🏻

Mark @mkb1892.bsky.social · 06/08/2026
IMO, he was that upset because he knew he had to move for his own career despite not ideally wanting to. If he was a few years younger maybe he stays and tries to make it work but the club is in complete transition and it's one he feels he can't be a part of because time is not on his side.
100
Mark @mkb1892.bsky.social · 06/08/2026
I'm not lecturing anybody 🤷🏻‍♂️. I'm simply saying that it is possible to move for your career yet still be upset at having to do so. I personally believe that despite going he should be remembered fondly. If you disagree then fine, I'm not telling you how to act or how you should feel! 😂😅😅

Mark @mkb1892.bsky.social · 06/08/2026
I'm not going to rewrite history and ignore all he has done for our club. More then most in recent years. If "any" player who wants to leave can "fuck off", then I personally think that's an incredibly simplistic view point but if that's how you see it then fair enough.
100
Mark @mkb1892.bsky.social · 06/08/2026
In the past 12 months he's seen Isak, Gordon & Tonali leave. There's no CL football. Completely understandable why he would want to move given the fact he's 28 and the chance of a move to a top club diminishes each year. If he's dead to you, then fair play but I'm not going to rewrite history. 👍🏻
110
Mark @mkb1892.bsky.social · 06/08/2026
I disagree. He's a good player who wants more to his legacy than a carabao cup.
010
Mark @mkb1892.bsky.social · 06/08/2026
Another way to look at it, is that he knows the only way he could possibly win titles and more cups is by moving to a club of Arsenal's calibre; but it means having to uproot himself from a region, club, team & team mates he has deep affection for. Tears are understandable given the circumstances

Mark @mkb1892.bsky.social · 04/08/2026
FWIW, I'm not saying he's definitely staying, just that I feel this narrative has been pushed by certain angles where he's been a bit of a pawn. Would he move, probably yes. But would and want are two different standpoints. We will see!

Mark @mkb1892.bsky.social · 04/08/2026
What's that based on? Everything I've read in relation to Bruno has been heresay driven by shill accounts & those with little credibility. There's been no direct quotes. Finished playing for Brazil and his pfp was NUFC related! Went fishing in an NUFC hat etc! Not actions of someone who "wants" out

I think something like that absolutely loses the soul TBH. The current badge has tradition, but a new digitally rendered one such as that strips all of it away and makes it look corporate, and cheap, in honesty.
