I can't believe I'm reading news like this again. This is the 4th eagle disappearance in 8 months! It is absolutely disgusting that people feel it is acceptable to destroy our precious birds of prey. I feel truly sorry for the teams at the Roy Dennis Foundation, Forestry England, and BoPH.

I have a P1000 and an android phone. There have been issues since a recent update on SnapBridge. I sometimes have to turn the Bluetooth off and on again on my phone to enable downloads. Not sure if this is the same issue you have?

Must be lovely to know that, just like Dorset, Sussex is now a well established territory for the always impressive White-tailed eagles! It's great to see how mankind is learning to make amends for past mistakes.

Other Swineham sightings included a common sandpiper, a pair of godwits, a snipe, an impressive sika stag, a ruff (I think), a marsh harrier, and a buzzard. @dorsetbirdclub.bsky.social @harbourbirds.bsky.social

A Dartford Warbler and a tiny baby adder were seen at Coombe Heath, RSPB Arne earlier today, along with a brown adult and baby lizard (common?). Thanks to my great friend, who is a raptor specialist, who also showed me a distant goshawk. @harbourbirds.bsky.social @dorsetbirdclub.bsky.social

Osprey seen perched on a tree from Lychett fields path. It headed off to Lychett bay, caught a fish, and then headed back over Sherford Pools, then disappeared off in a North Westerly direction. My first Dorset osprey of the year! @harbourbirds.bsky.social

Finally, after many trips to Poole Harbour over several months, we found an eagle soaring on thermals high above RSPB Arne on Saturday! Video not great due to distance and briefness of encounter but it was lovely to see! Not sure if it was adult or juvenile. @harbourbirds.bsky.social
