This is my lorge boi, Dune, who is 20 lbs. Dune refuses to use the normal-sized automatic litterbox I bought, that his 11 lb sister likes just fine. Today he has escalated his protest and has pooped repeatedly all over the house. My carpet cleaner is broken.

A very large, very fluffy long haired cream tabby cat is sprawled out in the middle of the floor on his back, his tail and back legs stretched out to their full length. All together he is probably at least 2 feet long from nose to peets.

Please send a big awooo up for Jake, my family's sweet 13 year old golden retriever, whom we lost very suddenly today when his heart just couldn't keep up with him any more. We are heartbroken. 💔

While I was in Chicago, I got to spend time hanging with my donor, his husband, and their SONS 😻😻

Here she is the day I brought her home. She had just arrived at the shelter and was only 13 weeks old. Until she finished her vaccine series, I carried her around Brooklyn under my arm like a very wiggly football.

Ok y'all I expect this to be polarizing. Basic pizza crust; rhubarb and wild strawberry chutney; soft-ripened goat cheese; and sugar snap peas. Sesame seeds on the outer crust, which I do with all my pizzas.

Dune's preferred summer afternoon nap spot.

I moved one of my bird feeders to outside the front door, and the cats are obsessed. Copper keeps "stalking" the birds and then peeking up over the bottom of the storm door.

A spritely little wood sorrel plant with its yellow flowers closed tightly in the afternoon heat. The bright green leaves are made up of three distinctly heart-shaped segments. This wood sorrel is growing up inside of a clump of rudbeckia (Black-Eyed Susan) with long, dark green serrated leaves.

My cattle dog mix Rye has taken my spot in bed while I got up to the bathroom. Somehow she has tucked herself into a little nest in the covers, which encircle her entirely except for her head, which is resting on a pile of comforter.
