Also known as Mithgifs. Here to yell about Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens, and any other professional wrestling that moves me. She pronouns or they pronouns are both fine.

Reminder that no burn on a wrestler has ever approached Cody saying “No fan has ever left a show thinking about you” to Disco Inferno.

Love me some completely impersonal brutality. The detached almost-fondness with which he says it is a classic.

And Sami will sometimes deign to let us pet her now! She is a haughty queen who keeps Kip and Ty in a state of awe (Kip) and terror (Ty). We are all her devoted servants.

Kip Stern is the leader and makes sure his two beloved colony members are well-cared for (he will cry until they’re fed, then sit and purr and watch them eat while I pet him).

Ty has become a shy fluffy sweetheart who enjoys lying on his back whenever possible.

I don’t think I’ve ever catposted on here! Friends from other places will remember I took in three neighborhood feral cats just before the pandemic and spent most of that time trying to socialize them. They’re all doing well and being cute!

OK, I know people are going to say Punk shouldn't be laughing at the end, but I am just assuming he's asking the referee "Wait, Paul did WHAT to Roman?"

I knew I was remembering something! From 2022! 🤼‍♂️
Kevin Owens talking about how Matthew McConaughey is his favorite actor and he’s love to have a feud with him.

If you see this, quote from a bridge from your gallery

A freeze-frame of the Miz with his arms trapped by Sami Zayn, a flash of pop-eyed panic going across his face.

The Miz is so good at the panicked micro-expressions!

I was going to say that the pirate here is Sami thinking about Kevin, but it’s NOT, Sami doesn’t seem worried about Kevin attacking him at ALL. The sad pirate… The sad pirate is me. 🤼‍♀️
A strip from Kate Beaton’s Nemesis comic series, showing a sad pirate complaining that his nemesis hasn’t shown up for an ambush. “Why won’t he come? I’ve been waiting for DAYS” he moans. Another pirate tells him “He’s probably busy” and the pirate buries his head in his hands and says “Just leave me alone to DIE.” It is, as they say, a Big Mood for this Kevin/Sami fan.

COME TO US KEVIN. (I do find it kinda interesting commentary described KO as posting a video “on social media,” not X.)
Kevin’s tweet “Getting bullied for the car I drive by the guy who owns a tour bus.”

I always find it impressively chilling how Kevin tends to take any emotional turmoil or pain and turn it outward into physical violence.

The way the crowd went nuts for this line! They're super invested in whether Roman will ever learn to accept that his cousins are his equals...

Not surprisingly, I'm fascinated by what's going on with Cody, Randy, and Kevin right now. I wrote about Kevin's character trajectory in more depth on Substack: "The Tiger and the Viper." open.substack.com/pub/mithgifs...

I'm trying to post more here, although the lack of ability to attach gifs is a struggle! But here's a heads-up that I posted recently on Substack about Kevin's character arc and how hard it is to be a better person: open.substack.com/pub/mithgifs...
Kevin explains that he wanted to earn his title shot so that he could look in the mirror and say "I worked my way there and I did it."

A lot of the subtext of Sami and Kevin’s story in WWE is about how difficult it is to get two careers synched up in a satisfying way. Chapter 18 of #FightForeverBook is about the moment Kevin has just entered NXT, the same moment Sami has reached the pinnacle of the promotion.
The rest of the locker room lifts Sami up on their shoulders, celebrating. Kevin retreats, leaving the center of the ring to the new champion. He watches from the corner as Sami lifts his title in triumph, and fans who knew their history must have felt a pang of regret at seeing him relegated to the side with Sami in the center. Obviously they’re totally out of sync, obviously Sami’s star is in ascendance, rocketing skyward trailing glory as Kevin just arrives on the scene and begins the slow process of working his way up the card. It took Sami a year and a half from his arrival in NXT to now, a year and a half of feuds with the Wyatt Family and Corey Graves and Leo Kruger until he reached the height. This moment of shared happiness was a kindness, a small gift before Sami soars out of sight to the main roster and leaves Kevin behind again, possibly forever.

Or so they thought.

Writing about Sami and Kevin's history, sometimes I have a hard time describing the scale of time in the story--it kind of feels like everything happens all at once. In Chapter 17 of Fight Forever, I try to explain what a long stretch there was before Kevin jumped to WWE.
"They were so inseparable (“joined at the hip,” as Jim Cornette described them) that Kevin finds it easier to remember the shows they didn’t share. For a decade they were a unit, pushing each other, teasing each other, looking out for each other. In those ten years, the longest they went without a match together was from Dec. 18, 2010 at Final Battle, where Kevin lost his Ring of Honor job, to May 27 2011 at PWG’s All Star Weekend 8, where Kevin teamed up with Akira Tozawa to fight El Generico and Ricochet. That had been 160 days.

After Jan. 12, 2013, when Kevin said farewell to El Generico, they wouldn’t share the ring again for 729 days."
