Would anyone be interested in a workshop (maybe at ABCT 2026?) with practical instruction on how to work "from in press to impact" (i.e., things you can do to help ensure that your science actually improves society)?

I have decided to leave APA at the end of my term. Ultimately, with my kids getting older, and me becoming progressively less cool by the minute, I chose to spend time with them while they would still allow it, and to return to UNC to preserve my tenure. digital.apa.org/releases/pri...

Incorrect. A grant cannot be used to pay for utilities, hr resources, etc. And research cannot run without the lights on etc, Indirect costs are absolutely needed to allow research studies to happen.
000
Mitch Prinstein @mitchprinstein.bsky.social · 12/02/2025
Incorrect. Endowments are not able to be used for these costs. And the 50-60% is based on actual costs, often an underestimate of what it costs to maintain the buildings, people, and overhead costs needed to actually run research.

Let's be very clear: Gutting science/education sectors and calling it 'cost-savings' is manipulative and false. The truth: People in ALL states will lose jobs, cures for your diagnoses will be delayed, tuition costs will spike. The world depends on US Science and Ed and both will suffer severely.

I agree what what folks have said. Tons of applications but a huge chunk are not really aware of what they are really applying for. And most apply for about 12 programs so it is still super competitive but those numbers make it sound even worse. Many get a postbacc and many apply multiple years.
