“Oh,” said Yuji.

“How’s your pain tolerance?”

Gojo tilted his head and put on a pretty pout. “I admit I was looking forward to poking Sukuna full of holes. I think I’ll be guilty for having fun if it’s you.”

As if Yuji hadn’t spent years falling over and letting the lady clowns beat on him to make people laugh. “You can enjoy yourself, sir, I don’t mind.”

Gojo blinked at him. With the needle held carefully between two fingers, he traced his middle finger down the scar slashed across the center of Yuji’s brow. “You’re very interesting, Mr. Clown. Care to tell me your name yet?”

Yuji huffed out a laugh. “Do you need it for the ritual?”

“No, but it may be your last chance for a while.” He held the next stud between his fingers. A round blue stone, chatoyant like tiger’s eye, the color of Gojo’s eyes. “This one binds your tongue.”

Yuji winced. “My tongue?”

“You’ll still be able to speak. Unless I say otherwise.” He held his hand out, fingertips brushing Yuji’s chin. “Stick your tongue out, clown.”
