Valuable lesson learned today: some of your art is meant to be trash, and that's okay! You can't always create one great piece after another. Sometimes, you will fail. Instead of getting frustrated, add more brush strokes to it. It might still look like shit, but now it's a kind of fancy shit!

I strongly feel that waiting to be ready is a scam. Trust me. Your mind will be stuck in that hedonic treadmill of, "once I get x, I can do y" until the cows come home. Go do that thing you want to do. Write, draw, stream, garden. Doing the thing is so much better than dreaming about it ❤️

It's scary knowing how much someone is hurting and yet not being able to alleviate any of it. It's hard to accept that sometimes, there really isn't anything I can do to make things better.

I'd offer unsolicited advice. I'd look for solutions. I'd try so hard to find the right thing to say to make them feel better. And in trying so hard to help, I'd forget to actually BE there and listen.
