Rough assembly of the mechanism to drive the hour and minute hands is done. Wiring cleanup next. The hands are driven independently by the master controller, which also provides control for the calendar rings.

Pendulum control installation. Control design by Jason Iceman. Two Arduino based controls drive independent stepper motors. Escape wheels mounted on the motor shafts rotate to reset gravity arms which provide impulse to the pendulums.

Growth Recoding Mechanism fabrication complete. Nickle and gold plating next. Behind the vernier lense assembly is a diamond point which will scribe a circle on a glass plate. Adjusted annually, the circle will represent the average growth of the Bristlecone pine for the year.

Growth recording mechanism in progress. Using a diamond point, this device will scribe a circle that represents an averaged annual growth ring of the Bristlecone pine on glass disc. The installation will have 6 discs, providing a permanent archive of the growth rate for around 1200 years.
