Every time I publish one of these articles, I remember how unusual my day-to-day life probably sounds to everyone else.

I feel genuinely happy on Cape Cod. This was taken at Nickerson State Park, one of those places where my mind finally becomes quiet.

I don't mind when people ask questions about my work. I do mind when they assume they already know all the answers. Curiosity usually leads to much more interesting conversations.

The better I know a submissive, the more freedom I have to enjoy myself, but also the greater my responsibility to remember, develop, and deepen what we have created together. Why working with experienced regulars is not necessarily easier:

Why Sessions With Experienced Regulars Can Be More Challenging Than Sessions With Beginners — Mistress Jane
People often assume that sessions with regular clients are easier. I already know their kinks, their limits, and how they respond to me. We have established trust, and neither of us has to start from the beginning. In some ways, that is true. But sessions with experienced regulars can also be much

I've met people who assume every BDSM session is about pain. Others think it's all role-play. Others think it's sexual. The reality is usually much harder to fit into a simple category.

Calm is not the absence of power. Sometimes it is the clearest expression of it.

What draws me to pegging is the way physical and emotional experiences can come together. Role reversal. Chosen humiliation. Vulnerability. Intimacy. Surrender. Physical pleasure may be part of it, but it is far from the whole story.

Is Pegging Just About Physical Pleasure? — Mistress Jane
I came across a post on X where a domme said she disliked pegging because she saw it as providing a sexual service to a man. That surprised me, because I see pegging very differently. I understand that it can feel that way to her, but it made me want to explain what I find so powerful about it. For

A man can enjoy being penetrated without becoming less masculine. A woman can penetrate a man without becoming less feminine. And that contradiction is exactly what makes pegging such a fascinating form of role reversal to me. I wrote about it:

I don't believe in surprising someone during their first session. If I'm planning to use a toy, I show it first. If someone isn't comfortable, we don't use it. There are plenty of ways to create intensity without taking away someone's sense of safety.

What surprised me most about becoming a professional Domme wasn’t anything that happened inside the dungeon. It was how profoundly the work changed the rest of my life. My new article:

What I Never Expected About Becoming a Pro Domme — Mistress Jane
When I began working as a full-time pro domme, I didn’t really know what to expect. I’ve learned a great deal since then, but certain aspects of this profession still surprise me. Becoming a professional dominatrix didn’t just change the way I work. It changed my relationship with kink, affected ho

A collar can change the entire psychological atmosphere of a session. Even without a leash, it establishes the roles between us. For that moment, he is no longer wondering whether to submit. He is wearing a symbol of the surrender he has already chosen.

How I Respond to Resistance During a BDSM Session — Mistress Jane
Sometimes I meet people who haven’t fully accepted their desire to be dominated by a woman. We begin a session, and all I feel from them is resistance. They might become quiet, or they might joke and smile as if they can’t take the situation seriously. They agreed to submit to me, but now that the

When I mentored an experienced kinky couple, I didn’t approach the woman as a student who needed to be taught how to dominate. I treated her as a fellow Domme. The result felt less like a lesson and more like a double-Domme session.

People often imagine BDSM role-play as costumes and over-the-top acting. In my experience, that's rarely what makes a scene memorable. The best role-play starts with a situation that feels completely ordinary... until it doesn't. 1/7
