Part 9 of Dr. Zuplow & Co. in: "Greatest Adversary".
Panel 1: Nora butts in to explain why Zuplow created that Death robot. "He creates all sorts of weird crap when he's drunk!" Zuplow, embarrassed by that statement, replies with "....'thanks' for that, Nora...."
Panel 2: Zuplow tells the "Hero" and "Sidekick" to bugger off. "Look, just get out of here before you become the first person I've ever had to shoot out of a cannon twice!" Panel 3: The "sidekick" grabs a hold of the "Hero's" arm and drags him out of Zuplow's lab. "S-sorry we ever b-bothered you! H-have a nice day!" Panel 4: The "hero" is disappointed with this outcome. "So that's it? No big fight, no massive robot to destroy? What a total bummer!" The "sidekick" responds with "Maybe we should just leave this behind and move on with our lives?" Panel 5: To which the "hero" replies with "No way! I bet he's still hiding something! Besides, it's only a matter of time till he gets drunk again, and who knows what'll happen then!" Panel 6: The "hero" stares at the Zuplowtech lab, vowing to discover the truth about Dr. Zuplow.... "Someday Zuplow... ....I'll see for myself if you're truly evil or not... ....mark my words!" This marks the end of Dr. Zuplow & Co. in "Greatest Adversary"... ...for now.....

An update on the future of MisteryZek:

Unfortunately this update is too long to include in the alt text, so to sum it up: I tried to pursue game dev as a job, but I ended up preferring it as a hobby instead. The new Mr. Geeza game from the Geeza Collection is now it's own standalone game. of which will be initially released as smaller chunks that will be playable in a web browser, then the full game will be released as an offline downloadable game. Comics will no longer be released weekly and will instead be released in between each Chapter of the new Geeza game, but it may be a while until the next one as I will be taking some time to plan out the next 5 comics.

Part 8 of Dr. Zuplow & Co. in: "Greatest Adversary".
Panel 1: Dr. Zuplow (followed by Nora) has entered the basement, and he's not at all happy.... "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING IN MY BASEMENT?!!!" he shouts. Panel 2: The "Hero" responds "Destroyin' your machines before you can use them for evil, duh!" Panel 3: Zuplow approaches the "Hero". "Well you won't find anything in here! I had all of my "death robots" dismantled after the last one got out!" "Why do you keep insisting that I'm some "evil mad scientist" anyway?!" Panel 4: Zuplow continues his speech: "I have no reason to conquer the world, or do anything like that!" "I'm perfectly fine with what I already have! My family, my company, ...maybe not my height, but that's beside the point!" Panel 5: The "Hero" snaps back with "Oh REALLY?!! If you're not evil, then why did you unleash that death robot a few months ago?!" to which Zuplow responds "I had NOTHING to do with that! Some thief broke into my basement and activated it by accident!" Panel 6: The "Hero" responds with another question "Why'd you build it in the first place, then?!" but Dr. Zuplow struggles to answer this one, blushing from embarrassment....

Part 7 of Dr. Zuplow & Co. in "Greatest Adversary".
Panel 1: The "Hero" stands in shock, as he was expecting Nora & Blobguy to put up more of a fight, but instead, they left to find Dr. Zuplow. The "Sidekick" is relieved by this. Panel 2: With the "confrontation" over, the "Hero" & "Sidekick" turn towards the Zuplowtech lab. "Heh! Looks like the lab's been left unguarded! How 'bout we rummage through it and see what Zuplow's up to?" says the "Hero". Panel 3: The "Hero" and "Sidekick" have began searching, but haven't found anything noteworthy... Panel 4: But the "Sidekick" notices the door to Zuplow's basement, which has a large yellow sign on it warning anyone who enters not to activate anything without Zuplow's permission. "I have a feeling..... .....that what we're looking for is in there!" says the "Sidekick". Panel 5: Later, the "Hero" sits on a pile of boxes, he asks the "Sidekick" if he's found anything, but the "Sidekick" answers "Not really...." Panel 6: Just then, the door to the basement is slammed open, shocking the "Hero" and "Sidekick".

Part 6 of Dr. Zuplow & Co. in: "Greatest Adversary".
Panel 1: The "hero" shoves the "sidekick" aside, and insists that he deals with Blobguy, whilst the "sidekick" deals with Nora. The "sidekick" isn't too happy about this, as he isn't much of a fighter. Panel 2: The "hero" leaps at Blobguy, ready to throw a punch... "You're one of Zuplow's creations, aren't ya? I bet you won't last long against...." Panel 3: The "hero"'s fist goes straight through Blobguy's body, with Blobguy seemingly completely unaffected by it. Panel 4: Whilst the "hero" attempts to shake Blobguy off his arm, the "sidekick" approaches Nora. Not sure what to do, he attempts to do some small talk, but Nora gets straight to the point, and asks him what happened to her dad, Dr. Zuplow. Panel 5: The "sidekick" responds "We kinda... ....shot him out of a cannon..." and points in the direction Zuplow flew off to. Panel 6: Nora and Blobguy leave to find Zuplow, leaving the "hero" in shock, whilst the "sidekick" is relieved he didn't have to fight anyone.

Three screenshots of the first mission of Worlde Lande Countrie. Each screenshot showcases the graphical evolution of the level, starting in 2022 and ending in 2026. Screenshot 1, from 2022, shows a city level with an orange sunset background. Mr. Geeza & the crisps of which he loves to scran use earlier, stranger looking sprites. The ground that Mr. Geeza stands on is comprised entirely out of repetitive grey bricks. Screenshot 2, from 2024, adds some blue & green to the background gradient, along with a sun with a confused looking face. Mr. Geeza & the crisps he loves to scran have been given updated, nicer looking sprites. The last screenshot, from 2026, changes the colour of the background gradient completely to look more like how a morning sky would actually look in the real world, everything else in the level has also been made darker to reflect this. Also, there are now clouds in the sky. Mr. Geeza no longer stares at the player, and the ground & city are more detailed.

Panel 1: The day after the "hero"'s last attempt at foiling Zuplow's "scheme", the "sidekick" rings the Zuplowtech lab's doorbell. Panel 2: Dr. Zuplow answers the door. "Oh, I guess you're a Zuplowtech customer.... What do ya want, kid?" Panel 3: The "sidekick" asks if Dr. Zuplow still has any SleighMobiles for sale. Zuplow isn't sure if he has any left. As all of this is happening, the "hero" appears behind Zuplow.... Panel 4: .....and suddenly grabs him! "Ha! You won't stop me this time, Zuplow! Not when I've got the "power of friendship" on my side!" Panel 5: Zuplow is launched out of his own cannon. The "hero" shouts: "How about a taste of your own medicine! Have a nice flight, long nose!" While the "hero" is distracted, the "sidekick" notices something, and alerts his boss... Panel 6: Zuplow's daughter, Nora, and their pet, "Blobguy" have appeared, and they don't look too pleased with these two "heroes".....

Part 4 of "Greatest Adversary".
Panel 1: The "hero" and "sidekick" are walking through the forest. The "sidekick" asks the "hero" to tell him why they're going after Zuplow. Panel 2: The "hero" explains that, growing up, he's always aspired to be a super hero like the ones he saw in games, cartoons and comics.... Panel 3: But his life took a different path, and he abandoned his dreams... ...until a few months ago, when A massive death robot was unleashed on the town. Although this robot was actually released by Rich Richard, a notorious scammer, the news claims Zuplow was the one responsible, and thus, the "hero" sees an opportunity... Panel 4: The "hero" finishes his story. "Since then, I've started stalkin' him, waitin' for the best moment to strike..." The "sidekick" is shocked and disgusted by this.. Panel 5: "I'm sure he's got another one of those things just waitin' to wreak havoc", the "hero" says as he walks off, leaving the "sidekick" behind. Panel 6: The "sidekick" thinks to himself "....why do I hang out with this freak?"

The Dr. Zuplow comic will have to be postponed to next week as my main PC is currently busy rendering animations for the new Mr. Geeza game. In the meantime, have this quick little thing I drew in MS Paint on Windows XP:

Mr. Geeza has broken into Dr. Zuplow's lab, and has started downloading all sorts of poppycock, piffle and tripe onto Zuplow's computer, much to his dismay.

Part 3 of Dr. Zuplow & Co. in "Greatest Adversary". Panel 1: The "hero" lands face down in a small bush. Panel 2: Whilst recovering, the "hero" laments to himself: "He's definitely up to SOMETHING... I mean, only an evil maniac would keep a CANNON in their front garden!" Panel 3: Seemingly out of nowhere, someone appears from out of a bush. It's the "sidekick". He asks the "hero" if he needs some help..... Panel 4: ...only to be slapped in the face by the hero! "I WAS DOIN' JUST FINE WITHOUT YOU, DORK!!!" the "hero" shouts... Panel 5: However, the "hero" reconsiders... Panel 6: ...and decides to let the "sidekick" join him. "Maybe the "power of friendship" is exactly what I need!". Confused by this, the "sidekick" replies "....wait, we're friends?"

Panel 1: Dr. Zuplow is doing some shopping. He examines a tin of Bread & Water soup. Panel 2: Zuplow drops the tin in shock as a mysterious voice yells "YO, ZUPLOW!!" Panel 3: The man attached to the voice reveals himself, seemingly having met Zuplow previously before. "Long time no see!", he says. Panel 4: It turns out that no, Zuplow hasn't met this man before, as he replies with ".....do I know you?". The mysterious man thinks to himself "Crap! I forgot this was the first time we've actually met!" Panel 5: The mysterious man strikes a pose as he explains himself: "Heh! Well all you need to know is that I'm the hero 'round here! And I'm here to foil your evil schemes!" Panel 6: Zuplow, not at all interested in what the "hero" has to say, sarcastically replies "....yeah, right, sure." as he walks away to continue his shopping.

Nora, Blobguy & Dr. Zuplow have been kidnapped by a strange, lanky, spiky individual. The spiky man has chucked pink, white & red paint all over Nora, stabbed some of his spikes into Blobguy, and is currently attempting to shave off all of Zuplow's hair. Blobguy's holding up a sign that says "DuoZuplixo SAGE '25 Demo OUT NOW". Nobody knows where this man came from, but one thing's for certain, he will return this time next year....

Later on I ended up merging parts of Marcia & Loretta to create Nora, Dr. Zuplow's daughter. Because of this I originally wasn't going to use either character again... (6/8)

Loretta & Nora both have similar facial expressions, and Nora wields a scythe similar to Loretta's. Nora also uses a similar colour scheme to Marcia and has similar looking hair.

This character was called Loretta. I had envisioned her as some sort of mentor figure for Marcia. You'd end up fighting her during Marcia's story due to some disagreements between the two. Unfortunately I have no way of recording her gameplay right now so all I can show you is her sprites (2/8):

From The Archives: Some of you may remember that back in 2022-2023 I was making my first indie game, DEMYSTIX. The game had 3 playable characters, Marcia, Greflek & David, but, you may recall that I had teased an unlockable 4th character throughout development. (1/8)

Four concept designs for Loretta, the unlockable 4th character from DEMYSTIX. The first design has white hair, and pink and grey clothes. Her second design changes her hair to a dark red, and changes the pink on her clothes to a brighter red. Her third design changes her hair to a very light blue and her clothes to a darker blue. Finally, we have her fourth design, which was made for the scrapped DEMYSTIX comic in 2024. This design exaggerated the shape of her hair more, and changed it's colour back to white. She now wears a yellow scarf around her neck, a red and yellow dress with a pointy skirt, white and yellow gloves, and red, white and yellow boots.
