Misterpatrick @misterpatrick.bsky.social · 09/04/2025Another early emergent is Thalictrum dioicum (Early Meadow Rue). Wonderful native that is kind of unique in that there are distinct male and female plants. #nativePlants #Minnesota 050
Misterpatrick @misterpatrick.bsky.social · 09/04/2025Mertensia virginica (Virginia Bluebells) display strong anthocyanin coloration when they emerge in the spring. #nativePlants #Minnesota 080
Misterpatrick @misterpatrick.bsky.social · 06/04/2025Another ephemeral starting to emerge is Aquilegia canadensis (Wild Columbine). One thing you’ll notice is the striking purple foliage. Many spring plants contain Anthocyanins which act as sunscreen, frost protection and heat absorber. As they mature they’ll fade to their normal green. #nativePlants 1113
Misterpatrick @misterpatrick.bsky.social · 04/04/2025Snow storms are not going to keep the Erythronium albidum (White Trout Lily) from getting ready for spring. #nativePlants #Minnesota 0100

Misterpatrick @misterpatrick.bsky.social · 14/03/2025Spring before the storm. Aquilegia canadensis (Native Columbine) is starting to make an appearance. Misterpatrick @misterpatrick.bsky.social · 13/03/2025Eastern Skunk Cabbage (Symplocarpus foetidus) is a fascinating early spring plant.
