I spoke with my brother yesterday who suggested that I "turn the air conditioner on." I told him that, "we don't have that here, unless I go to the movies." He went totally quiet. I could here the gears in his head trying to comprehend what I had said. Hot and annoyed I just hung up.😒

I was an old school fan grrl back in the day. I sent Stallone a fan letter after seeing Rocky. I included a photo of him that I cut from a gossip rag. Well, I forgot about it and several months later I got a letter. The address was in my handwriting so I was confused. Anyway, he signed my photo.☺️

This was the first "adult" horror film that I ever saw. My babysitter was watching it while I lay sleeping next to her. I would wake up periodically and see what was happening. 🎻🔪 I definitely remember saying to myself before drifting back to sleep,"I'm gonna watch this when I get older!" LOL!

100% I haven’t seen him in awhile, but Mr Jeffries lives or maybe lived, near my neighborhood. I would see him from time to time walking by where I worked used to work.

Danger definitely can come from dealing with the public. But it can also come from employees. My brother is a security guard and at one point was a manager. He had to reprimand an employee and the employee punched him in the face. The company did and said nothing. SG’s deserve safety and good pay.

I have read this book and it was absolutely fantastic! I’ve been wanting it to see it on the big screen one day. January 2027 can’t come fast enough!😻 #ChildrenOfBloodandBone #MovieSky #ReginaKing #ViolaDavis #IdrisElba #BlackCinema youtu.be/LBg1OpxHMa0?...

100% correct! 👏🏾 I posted something similar on BlueSky a few months back and got pushback from a few posters. Personal taste is not rendered invalid by someone else’s opinion.

I know that I’m gonna get some hate for this. But, whatever. I don’t like Madonna or her new album. There, I said it. #madonna #popmusic #thegays #divas

My garsh! You can’t be THAT old! I’m in my 60s and I mostly rewatch shit.😅 But I hear you. I’ve been narrowing down my BluRay/DVD collection these past few months. There are just some things that I love that I’m never gonna watch again.

I think it would fit with Arrow Video or Vinegar Syndrome. I love them to death! But these companies don’t seem to do any, that I know of, Black films. I see lots of other films by ethnic groups being released by them. But I don’t know why they have overlooked Black cult films.

M Francis @mistermoonlight.bsky.social · 04/07/2026

I will fly to whatever you screen it! I’d love to see it on the big screen!

Speaking of restoration of Black horror films from the 70s, didn’t someone do a restoration of Sugar Hill or am I just hoping someone did?😅

M Francis @mistermoonlight.bsky.social · 04/07/2026

Yeah, the last couple of years before he passed he had some pretty significant memory loss when talking about the past. It was rough. But he was happy with his life and achievements.
