I quite enjoy the 1953 movie for being the original story crammed into the shell of a 50s scifi movie with some really fun visual effects, but it does feel more like it's own story. I think it suffers from the same problem as Dracula where you're always losing something significant cutting it down

We've got about 4 "smart LED" bulbs in our house that stopped working a month ago. Well stopped being smart, turning into pricey and not very good looking lights stuck on the brightest bluest setting. It's so irritating when all the hardware and connections are just fine, just no outside server.

My first Castlevania and my first DS game, I put so many hours into this bad boy. I loved all the different weapons which was quite a shock playing other Castlevania games and realizing traditionally you use a whip and then limited secondary weapons.
