For Numeracy, we took some inspiration from Building Thinking Classrooms and had a go at using vertical surfaces to solve our maths challenges! 🧠✏️ It was great to see everyone working collaboratively and sharing their ideas and thinking.

Today we took our learning outside to familiarise ourselves with reading decimal numbers on a scale. The children worked in pairs to measure objects around the school. 🔢📏

We also visited our local library for a fun book scavenger hunt 📚🔎 We carried out a science experiment to investigate which materials allow water to pass through💧

Very busy week in P5!!! This week we explored the different components of a letter and practiced our spelling words in a variety of different ways. We had a visit from the STEM Ambassadors at the High School and built our own safe places for a tsunami as part of our Natural Disasters topic. 🌊

To kick off our new topic this term, we made our own volcanic eruptions! 🌋 We learned about all the different parts of a volcano, including the vent, magma chamber and crater. We loved watching our volcanoes bubble and erupt! 🫧💥
