If you look at the map of where robotaxi companies have parked their San Francisco fleets, patterns emerge. It makes sense to keep cars close to the people who use them. But, someday, it'd make sense to build housing here. Latest column from @esksf.bsky.social missionlocal.org/2026/09/robo...

We're *thrilled* to have won the "Financial Health Award" from LION this year, in large part to our strong, sustainable fundraising. In case you haven't noticed, we've grown! A lot! And that has helped us grow our newsroom to cover more of the city. The LION judges took note.

In District 8, supervisor candidate Manny Yekutiel has taken a strong fundraising lead. But the numbers fail to reflect the impact from a June 30 story in the San Francisco Standard detailing a 2020 sexual assault allegation. Yekutiel has denied the allegations.

Mayor Lurie’s packet of three charter reform measures has drawn more money than anything else on the ballot, a total of $8.6 million. The most recent filings reveal that the committee has already spent $5.5 million, most of that on signature gathering.

It is a stunning stat: 44% of *all* early ballots returned in San Francisco are from those aged 65 and older. We know older voters come out early, but this is a very strong showing for the senior crowd. And it could bode ill for Prop. D, progressives, and even Prop. A...

Lurie has expanded the traditional definition of a shelter “bed:” Many of the new “clinically intensive” beds are designed to provide compulsory treatment or stabilize people in crisis, for periods as short as 24 hours. In some cases, the beds are chairs.
