i took this pic hiking in Sedona last year. I feel like this has become what Autumn means to me. I’ve never lived somewhere with bright foliage… The South doesn’t really have “Fall” and Sonoma County just has “Extended Summer” lol. But Fall in the American Southwest means cloudier skies to really make the red clay that much brighter. The shapes the shadows make on the canyon faces change by the second. While the rest of the continent is busy dying, i feel like these canyons come alive in the Fall.
