I do not wish to jinx it but… I think we know where we’re moving to. It is unfortunately not back to my hometown but it should offer some real refuge from the nightmare we’re living now. Just need to survive here until probably November

Fact is, if someone is using Gen Ai in one aspect of their production... they're likely using it elsewhere too. If you concede ground to gen ai use in any way, you're just allowing yourself to excuse its use in every way.

Update: the son might be slightly more normal. Got the vibe that he was self aware enough to understand that what they were doing was actually incredibly inconvenient and invasive to us. Was literally ready to argue with his mother in front of me. It’s perhaps a shame that he is not the actual LL.

I hear you. The idiot I have to deal with is, for some reason, my sup’s favorite so I’m not holding my breath either on my end. Just keep your side of the street clean. Sometimes that’s all you can do. And find joy where you can. Know that you’re not alone with the work woes 🫂💕

110

🌷 Mishy 🌷 @mishydraws.bsky.social · 04/08/2026

I feel that. Sometimes I think about how my shitty coworker would’ve been fired if she worked anywhere else :| All I can say is… paper trail. Never hurts to have a paper trail with those reports. I console myself w/ thinking that sometimes it just takes time to build a paper trail big enough.

🌷 Mishy 🌷 @mishydraws.bsky.social · 04/08/2026

I’ve definitely had days like that. I usually end up reading a lot of fanfic since creating my own stuff takes a little too much effort on days like that. Try to find your low effort happy place 🥲💕

110

🌷 Mishy 🌷 @mishydraws.bsky.social · 04/08/2026

Also, I started documenting anything weird that happens between me and my resident shitty coworker. Date, time, what happened, what was said, and any witnesses. Just in case I ever need it. But I will say my job is also unionized. Not sure how things are at your job or if that would be helpful.

110

🌷 Mishy 🌷 @mishydraws.bsky.social · 04/08/2026

sometimes I’ll remember he said that and it affords me a moment of peace. I know ALL about having a shitty coworker, and I’ve also learned that some ppl rly do have no lives outside of whatever they have going on at work. Absolutely miserable ppl that need to make it everyone else’s problem.

🌷 Mishy 🌷 @mishydraws.bsky.social · 04/08/2026

There was an old timer I worked with at my last location who gave me advice before I left. He said I’d run into ppl at work who are idiots and don’t know what they’re talking about. He also said to never bring it home with me. Thats the important bit. Easier said than done, but…

It's not enough to be against AI, you need to be pro art. You need to be a champion of the art you love, you need to share that passion and joy, and do what you can to support the artists who make it, because it's not enough to hate AI, to hate what it's doing to art and media; you gotta love.

Thanks 🥲 it’s okay, I need a day or 2 to process the change in plans but to be fair it wasn’t like our ~dream~ apt or anything. It was just good enough to maybe work. But maybe this is just a sign we need to be more patient and wait it out for something better 🥲

Also our current LL is STILL out of the country and my mom wants to wait until they get back so we can give notice about leaving which is way more consideration that we have ever been given for anything wtf?? Anyways. Let’s just keep living in hell I guess.
