Taking off the oleander leaf #appliqué and replacing it with #embroidery Did Bayeux Tapestry stitch on the first leaf, then learned fishbone stitch. Didn’t like it, undid the fishbone leaf, reused the thread, and half a leaf in fishbone stitch almost completed the leaf in Bayeux tapestry stitch.

When NASA talked about the Artemis II Mission, they said sent up humans for the poetry and describe what they saw. The @esa.int #eclipse stream did that. Maggie was perfect. (I had to sit down after experiencing my first totality too) The NASA one has been very dry and missed the human aspect. 😞

A lot of people on the writing discord server I’m on like Ellipsus. Also Pages if you’re on a Mac. Scrivner is also popular, it has a one time fee and it and all the updates are yours for life. It’s especially good for organisation.

Dreamt I was in the #Frankenstein novel. Everything was dark sepia toned, shadowed with jagged edges like a wood cut, and I watched the Narrator stalk and terrorise Victor Frankenstein, slowly driving him insane. Woke up and remembered for most of the novel, Victor Frankenstein IS the Narrator.

Made Japanese pickled cumbers. Cucumbers, rice vinegar, sugar, salt. Slight wrinkle in that the only sugar in the house was cinnamon sugar for toast, which is giving it a kind of unusual flavour. Like getting that sweet cinnamon toast flavour, mixed with vinegar and the cucumber crunch. 😋

TLDR: a lot of current screens, not just Apple but Windows and Android too, use something called Pulse Width Moderation or PWM, where the screen flickers hundreds of times per second. Most people can’t see it, but some people are sensitive to it 🙋‍♀️ and it triggers eyestrain, headaches, and migraines.

Love finding and being able to touch cool historical stuff at garage sales. Italian Murano glass mirror for $10. The lady couldn’t remember if she bought it in Murano in the 70s, or if her mom got it in the 50s, but it’s been on her dresser for a very long time.

Kind of interesting the differences between the NASA launches and the ESA launch, prelaunch for Smile felt a bit like an advert for Avio’s rockets. Now that Smile is in space, we’re getting more of the SCIENCE! that Smile is looking for, which am super excited for. 😄Yay Aurora and Magnetic fields!

After three Blake’s #Lotaburger in New Mexico didn’t have the pineapple tajin milkshake/no milkshake/couldn’t take orders, stopped by one in Tucson who did. It’s heavier on the tajin than expected, so the flavour profile is salty-spicy-sweet. It’s interesting, but not one I’d get regularly.
