Never forget Boris did the US election coverage and said a Trump win would be fine. Preferable even.

Quite a week if your name is Tom Watson.

London by-election coverage makes me realise I shouldn't just take everything at face value I read about elections that happen elsewhere in the country.

I guess if he has a terrible result here it's different, but can't you say who cares if he finishes a decent second? Don't think running was a mad decision or anything. He has bigger problems quite frankly.

SNES vs Megadrive wouldn't look out of place now. Is the difference that sort of nonsense has spread to everything?

Everyone involved in 2016 has largely forgotten they kept Farage quite well hidden during the campaign.

I guess the algorithms have their place but really the BBC should have the confidence to say these are our top shows you should watch them.

010

Mischa Watson @mischawatson.bsky.social · 07/10/2026

It's really odd to watch. A real mish mash of bits you recognise from both books. And they still manage to most of the horses very little screen time.

Mischa Watson @mischawatson.bsky.social · 07/10/2026

Two of the longer running better shows around, Slow Horses and Blue Lights, are having very average seasons at the moment. It's like everyone has given up on writing good character development. Boring.

First day as Suella Braverman's agent here, got her a great gig on TV being handcuffed to a celebrity. Now to read the news.

Mischa Watson @mischawatson.bsky.social · 07/10/2026

This is key point. Can understand getting annoyed about the well actually stuff if it's from people who are doing it purely for the points scoring, but I think football fans who remember how they have been treated by various Tory governments (especially 1980s) are allowed to go hang on here.

I mean maybe this is the vibe but that's not what the polls are showing? not conclusively anyway.

Don't think it was in anyway mainstream with Wright, not in the way it was with the French national team at that time.

Barnes got a ridiculous amount of stick at the old Wembley in the early 90s when he was perceived to be past his best.

170

Mischa Watson @mischawatson.bsky.social · 07/10/2026

Barnes very famously had to put up with large numbers of English fans giving him racist abuse and saying he shouldn't be playing for the team.
