Sitting on the beach don't hit the same when you're 2 days past when you were supposed to go home and the ocean is washing up chunks of the only road off the island.

Go on vacation, they said. It'll be fun, they said. A beautiful island will be just the spot for relaxing..... I'm just so relaxed as I stare at the singular road on or off the island covered entirely by the ocean for the 3rd day in a row

Company picnic today at local amusement park. Parking is included in my ticket thankfully, which is good, cause I certainly would have just turned around and left if I had to pay the $40 they are charging people to park in their pot hole riddled parking lot. These companies really have lost the plot.

One day you're young and fun and the next day you're sitting at work daydreaming about buying a $400 counter top appliance.

Got a call that my mom had been taken to the emergency room so I rushed over here to have to submit myself to a full bag check, metal detector, and license scan just to get in the door. Why is my local emergency room more secured than my local schools?

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️- Isola by Allegra Goodman. I can't believe I have just left this epic story rotting on my my TBR since last year. I just know there is such a strong likelihood that this will be my BOTY for 2026. What an beautifully written, unexpected, emotionally devastating journey this book is. #booksky

Every time it is announced that Taylor's store is dropping new merch, I swear I'm done buying from it because the prices are wild. And then it drops and I am in the checkout line in less than a min. One day maybe Blondie will release this chokehold she has on my bank account lol.

East of Eden ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - calling it a masterpiece doesn't do it enough justice. Steinbeck's writing creates characters with so much depth that they become like family. His descriptive writing never feels forced and somehow is the perfect balance of lush and concise. A timeless classic. #booksky

About half way done reading East of Eden and I cannot believe I slept on this book for so many years. I am so deeply invested in all of these characters and their stories. Some classics are definitely classics for good reason. #reading

What an absolutely unforgettable read this book was. I went into it blind based on the recommendation of a bookish friend and definitely did not expect to finish with it being in my top 5 books but here we are. Beautifully written and recommended for any historical fic lover. #booksky #reading

Just thinking about and celebrating how lucky I am to have found a partner that sees me and celebrates me for exactly who I am every single day as we celebrate our 11th wedding anniversary today.

Yup. I really wanted to be a fan for a while because I do think she has a lot of talent and I do enjoy several of her songs but I don't want to support someone who takes every opportunity to talk down to anyone who lives different than her. She's immensely privileged and clearly can't see that.

Me not liking Billie Eilish has absolutely nothing to do with me being a Taylor Swift fan and everything to do with her constantly coming across as an entitled pretentious asshole every time she publicly speaks. Several of her songs live on my playlists but I will never consider myself a fan of her.

Invisible Strings & Books [Amanda's Version] @mirrorball88.swifties.social · 08/05/2026

Yeah I enjoy some of Billie's music but can't stand her as a person. She constantly comes across as an entitled pretentious jerk. I feel the same about her brother too.
