Another paper led by Guusje Koorneef. This chronosequence study in the Netherlands shows that organic farming increases total and labile soil org. C in clay soils, but not in sandy soils. Intrinsic soil properties (iron oxides) influence response to management. www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...

With all the attention for soil C sequestration as a C removal strategy the role of N, which is closely linked as a key component of soil organic matter, is mostly overlooked. Great paper and very nice visuals!
