The promise of AI = better productivity + services is far from proven. So far most evidence points in the other direction. The new #AIactionplan proposes using public services as an AI sandbox, but it says nothing about WHO will decide which use cases are piloted & scaled.

AI -- or algorithmic decision making -- in public services is not a shiny topic. It's low tech, and can seem like a niche topic. But it affects the lives of so many people who cannot opt out and have little to no voice in these matters.
