The best comparison I came up with is Dead Space remake. Strong first half, questionable second half, occasional desire to just uninstall the game, an alright ending. While it may be true that giving it a second try after some time will leave a better impression, as of right now, Requiem was off-key

I refuse to believe that there were no last minute changes to the story (spoilers next btw) 5 minute long, borderline turret section as Leon. "Here's your 3rd Tofu "easter egg". Giving you a fight against DEFINITELY NOT Hunk. "Together we are Requiem"-ahh voicelines... The ending was aight tho.

This might be not the most popular opinion... But RE 9 is kinda meh? It's a rather strange case. I can't say that the game wasn't fun, nor can I say that I enjoyed every second of it. I'd say it was 35% fun, 25% nonsensical (in a bad way), 35% bullshit and 5% pointless references. I did not like it.

It's a bit more complicated than that, but realistically, there's no good course of action left for me at this point. But let me tell you this, the only thing I regret is that I didn't get a chance to properly defend myself. Things would've ended quite differently.

So I got in a relationship. Like the majority of relationships, it ended. But unlike the majority of relationships, one day I woke up to bans, blocks, death threats and a Google doc full of accusations, screenshots of personal conversations and a lot of mildly displeased people.

I am, to say bluntly, a socially inept person. I don't feel comfortable around people and can barely grasp such basic concepts as friendship. I'm not always able to understand sarcasm or jokes and sometimes can get offended by the most insignificant things.

Nightreign is indeed amazing and I'd say better than the base game in some aspects. But there's a problem that renders it literally unplayable for me... I don't have it 😞

In fact, plenty of people make even worse actions in private, so "why pay attention if I see this every day". Again, I can't really share my opinion regarding the person as it's not unbiased. My only prediction, majority of people will forget that this ever happened in about 2 weeks(?)

I understand your intentions, but unfortunately jokes about even more upsetting topics are not perceived as something bad by the general public. Unless it's someone really big or something really bad, people usually don't care.

I also want to emphasize that this whole rant is not my defense of the person, but an opinion on why the video doesn't serve its purpose. Although the whole nsfw profile thingy is indeed pretty stupid. (7/7)

Miri @miridoingthings.bsky.social · 20/06/2025
At the end of the day, the video is neither informative, because of the large amount of personal opinion added, nor is it a piece of mind, because other than “person bad”, there is no opinion. That's just not the way shit like this should be handled imo. (6/7)

Miri @miridoingthings.bsky.social · 20/06/2025
The video can be summarized as "This person made an in**st joke, they probably likes in**st, and even if they don't, they're still a bad person. Also, dude, your defense is so trash my brain is melting, I have nothing to say." (5/7)

Miri @miridoingthings.bsky.social · 20/06/2025
You talk about the stream and berate their response, but then state that "I don't wanna sit through 90 minutes worth of the stream" because you assume it's just QnA with chat and Webfishing gameplay. (4/7)
100
Miri @miridoingthings.bsky.social · 20/06/2025
You're talking about the game being bad not because you played it, but because you were told it was bad because one of its themes is in**st. (3/7)
100
Miri @miridoingthings.bsky.social · 20/06/2025
You said yourself that the point of the video is to inform others that the person in question has done a bad thing, yet you have done no research other than what *you were told*. (2/7)

Miri @miridoingthings.bsky.social · 20/06/2025
While some people may see this topic as something “not THAT bad”, another problem that contributes to people disregarding it is that the video looks pretty sloppy. (1/7)

And thus my little tirade has come to an end. The last thing I'll add is that only we, the players, can solve the aforementioned problems, as we are the ones who decide what to pay for. Have a nice day. (19/19)

I often buy OSTs and supporter packs for games I enjoy because I want to support the people that created something that I like. Not for self-indulgence, but as a sign of appreciation. People spent months if not years making it, so it's only fair if I give them a little "thank you". (18/19)

Don't get me wrong, I'm not some cheap bastard that thinks everything should be free, as I understand that there's a person behind every polygon, story bit and lore piece. A person whose income depends on it. (17/19)
110
Miri @miridoingthings.bsky.social · 10/05/2025
As for this one, I don't have an immediate solution, but it's something I've been thinking quite a lot. There's certainly a way to make content locked behind pulls and rolls more accessible, but to do so gacha must cease to exist as a concept. (16/19)
110
Miri @miridoingthings.bsky.social · 10/05/2025
This aspect particularly saddens me, as it's an issue that affects someone I care deeply about. Someone, who loves games, stories they tell and ideas they explore, but too hellbent on the presence of gacha mechanics... But I digress. (15/19)
110
Miri @miridoingthings.bsky.social · 10/05/2025
But at the same time, I know plenty of people who not only don't mind it, but view it as a selling point. Yes, some people won't play a game if it doesn't have a gacha system. I think it goes without saying that it's not a healthy mindset... (14/19)
110
Miri @miridoingthings.bsky.social · 10/05/2025
Gacha systems: Now this is a tough one for me. Personally, I despise gacha, as I perceive it not as some kind of reward but as a roadblock. What do you mean I have to "pull" for something I want? Isn't it gambling but with extra steps? (13/19)
110
Miri @miridoingthings.bsky.social · 10/05/2025
For this one, I suggest opening up access to past content to players and allowing them to purchase it without paying money. For Premium goods, make them tied to some sort of achievement. Something that really shows the player's dedication. Oh, and fuck FOMO as a concept👍 (12/)

Miri @miridoingthings.bsky.social · 10/05/2025
The "extra rare, limited time special" offer can be given any price, can contain anything, therefore its value is as concrete as the outcome of a d20 roll. Sure, you can calculate its approximate value in real money, but does it make it any less worthless? (11/19)
110
Miri @miridoingthings.bsky.social · 10/05/2025
One might say, “It's a way for people and collectors to show their dedication to the game”. Well, no, you elitist fuck! It's a way for you to satisfy your ego by thinking you're better than others simply because you possess something they don't. (10/19)
110
Miri @miridoingthings.bsky.social · 10/05/2025
Battlepasses, FOMO and "Premium goods": In my opinion, this is the apotheosis of scummy monetization. Offering people something that has no real value and is only available for a limited time is nothing short of a scam. (9/19)
110
Miri @miridoingthings.bsky.social · 10/05/2025
So, how can this problem be solved? My suggestion: make it so that lootboxes cannot be purchased in any other way than by playing the game. You want these cool cosmetics? Well, you can get a chance to have it by spending some time and effort! (8/19)
110
Miri @miridoingthings.bsky.social · 10/05/2025
Second, made up value. "Everyone has a legendary skin and you don't, ye fucking pleb?" We strive to be on par with our peers or to surpass them. For some people such motivation is the driving force for, well, gambling. (7/19)
110
Miri @miridoingthings.bsky.social · 10/05/2025
"Surely this time I'll get what I want. Certainly I'll get lucky now". And just like that, we gamble again, and again, and again, and again... We devise rituals and schemes that "increase" our odds, we go to unreasonable lengths to get something we believe is rightfully ours. (6/19)
110
Miri @miridoingthings.bsky.social · 10/05/2025
Lootboxes: Oh boy, we all sure do love gambling. But now with no chance of getting our money back! Yip-fucking-pee! There are several problems with lootboxes. First, the psychological aspect. As a species, we always hope for a positive outcome to our predicament. (5/19)

👏Example: Let's say you're playing your favorite game with your mates. You get to a certain plot point or location or boss or whatever and in order to progress, you have to either wait, say, 24 hours or throw in some cash. Now that's some fucking baloney if you'd ask me. (4/19)
110
Miri @miridoingthings.bsky.social · 10/05/2025
*This is only applicable in the case of non-intruisive monetization. No predatory practices. No Pay-to-win. No paywalled content. Nothing that could be considered essential. If I have to pay to progress in a game, I simply won't play it. (3/19)
110
Miri @miridoingthings.bsky.social · 10/05/2025
To begin with, do I believe that microtransactions are inherently bad? - No*. For some developers, it's the only way to sustain themselves and keep the studio afloat. This is especially true for some F2P projects. (2/19)
110
Miri @miridoingthings.bsky.social · 10/05/2025
Fellas, let's talk (post an unreasonably lengthy thread) about gaming. Monetization and microtransactions to be precise (and think how it can be improved for us - consumers). (1/19)

I don't want to listen to a professor that recites a lecture for 100th time, but to a friend who wants to tell me about the cool shit they found. It's way easier to watch something when you can see that the person on the other side is just as fascinated and interested as you are.

Miri @miridoingthings.bsky.social · 26/04/2025
Another thing that bothers me is that some people don't really know how to present the information properly. And I believe it's not really about editing or one's oratory abilities, but about the attitude.

Miri @miridoingthings.bsky.social · 26/04/2025
Yes, they too dedicate segments for retelling the story, but they still manage to implement analysis in there. They don't just tell you what happened, but why it happened, why here, from both in-game and meta perspectives.
120
Miri @miridoingthings.bsky.social · 26/04/2025
Obviously, to claim that such ailment plagues every single piece of content would be a lie (even though lying on the Internet is extremely funny, I'll refrain from it). A great example of what I consider an analysis would be videos by eurothug4000 on Forbidden Siren game series.
130
Miri @miridoingthings.bsky.social · 26/04/2025
My point is, a lot of recent analysis tries to tell us "how" things happened rather than "why" things happened. This is especially jarring when it comes to things you are already familiar with. You don't need a two-hour retelling of a story you already know. Shocker.
130
Miri @miridoingthings.bsky.social · 26/04/2025
In my opinion, the proper question in this case is "why". Why did the character have to do it? Why did they act the way they did? Why this particular character and not someone else? Obviously, these questions can be answered by the plot, but we still have room for analysis.
130
Miri @miridoingthings.bsky.social · 26/04/2025
👏 Weird analogy time 👏 Let's imagine a character. They need to get from point A to point B. And the whole story is about getting there. So, what would be the correct questions to analyze this story. The obvious answer is "how," but it doesn't make sense. We already know that from the story itself.
130
Miri @miridoingthings.bsky.social · 26/04/2025
Don't get me wrong, there's nothing inherently evil about retelling a story or unveiling the secrets of a world that fascinates you... But that's not analysis. Saying that this character did this and that is not analysis. Retelling common knowledge in chronological order is not analysis.
130
Miri @miridoingthings.bsky.social · 26/04/2025
Kind of a hot take, but I believe the analytical side of YouTube is becoming less and less, well, analytical. What I mean is, it feels like almost every video is the same: an hour of plot retelling, half an hour of lore dumping, a bit theorizing and maybe a smidge of an actual research.
