Ukraine is not a typical EU candidate. Already a partner in the fields of security, innovation, & resources, it lacks the institutions for full membership. “Political membership” could bridge that gap, write @miriamkosmehl.bsky.social & Christoph Michailow. Read more bst-europe.eu/europe-in-th...

Political EU Membership as a Bridge Out of the Geostrategic Grey Zone

On Russia, the NSS calls for U.S. diplomacy to stabilize relations: “Managing European relations with Russia will require significant U.S. diplomatic engagement… to reestablish conditions of strategic stability across the Eurasian landmass.”

Now more than ever, the EU should increase economic pressure on Russia - to deprive it of the resources it uses to wage war. Moscow still earns €450 m a day from fossil fuels, €200 m from sales to China alone (Source: @CREACleanAir „Russia Fossil Tracker“)

Is Ukraine's EU accession dependent on Zelensky being there?
The US is now discrediting the very people who have maintained a functioning state under full-scale war for three long years — adding to the long list of challenges Ukrainian society must navigate.
