Fascinating world of (broken) ancient #glass: Fragments of more than 600 #Roman glass vessels, found in #Augsburg. The vessels were produced around 100 AD in Italy and broke presumably during transport to Augsburg, where they were buried in...🧵1/2 🏺 AncientBluesky #archaeology
The picture shows a large number of broken glass vessels. The size of the fragments varies, some of them are small shards, while the shape of some of the vessels is still clearly visible. The majority of the glass fragments are of translucent blueish and greenish colour.
