minsoft @minsoftgames.bsky.social · 30/09/2026That's a shame. I've recently started learning to weld & fabricate and found your videos on those subjects very helpful. Just remember for each negative comment there are loads of people that enjoy the video but don't comment. Fully understand though, all the best. 130
Reposted by minsoftmerman1974 @merman1974.bsky.social · 18/09/2026It’s depressing to see how many homebrew games for old computers and consoles are now resorting to AI art - especially for loading screens/cutscenes. Get a pixel artist who CREATES something . Oh, and while we’re at it, stop all these “Claude” ports of games. Code it yourself or don’t bother. 65821
minsoft @minsoftgames.bsky.social · 08/09/2026Congrats on the release, it looks wonderful! Looking forward to playing it... 121
minsoft @minsoftgames.bsky.social · 25/07/2026I only 'played' Hang On, deluxe...but my dad had to tilt the bike as I was too small. Didn't ever see Super Hang On. 000
minsoft @minsoftgames.bsky.social · 19/07/2026Coin op being 'one of the finest driving games ever' is a stretch...it's awful! 110
Reposted by minsoftclockworkrobot @jamesgwatt.bsky.social · 08/07/2026Play Expo Glasgow, this weekend. Chris Binarystar, Laurence Bennion and myself will be presenting an extensive Vectrex exhibit. Come and say Hi if you can. 043
minsoft @minsoftgames.bsky.social · 08/07/2026Ah...my Proxxon only came with an adjustable one which explains why I've not had that issue. 110
minsoft @minsoftgames.bsky.social · 08/07/2026Oh...I've never had to change the collet. What's better about the Dremel in that respect, bigger size range? 100
minsoft @minsoftgames.bsky.social · 08/07/2026Same problem happened to my Dremel after barely any use...then found out it's a common design fault. Terrible. I also got a Proxxon and that has been great. 120
minsoft @minsoftgames.bsky.social · 05/05/2026Tie between 1942 & Bomb Jack. They were the first C64 games I played...actually I think the first commercial / non-educational home computer games I played. 020
minsoft @minsoftgames.bsky.social · 25/04/2026A reason that hasn't been mentioned already is if the powerup items are shootable (to move and/or cycle the item). 020
minsoft @minsoftgames.bsky.social · 15/04/2026Yeah, I'm doing exactly the same in my game. I've got a limit of 10 enemies & 7 enemy bullets currently which is pushing it a bit at times, but there is room for optimisation. Hoping to increase the bullet count...although 7 does feel more than it sounds when they're rapidly flying around. 110
minsoft @minsoftgames.bsky.social · 15/04/2026I agree entirely. I'm curious - do you treat enemies, bullets etc separately (with a limit for each)? Or do you have a pool of objects, where each object can be any type of game element? 130
minsoft @minsoftgames.bsky.social · 07/04/2026Someone made it, but it didn't get released (due to licensing issues IIRC). 010
minsoft @minsoftgames.bsky.social · 01/04/2026In addition there is a ground pin, and two pins used for analogue paddles. I presume the 'new' 2 button joysticks use one of the paddle inputs. 220
minsoft @minsoftgames.bsky.social · 27/03/2026Oh brilliant! I'm pleased you liked it - thanks for letting me know! 010
minsoft @minsoftgames.bsky.social · 27/03/2026Received my 'GCE' version of Vyrzon today! If anyone wants one: vectrexmulti.com/order2.html#... 120
minsoft @minsoftgames.bsky.social · 22/03/2026Yep! It has limitations but hoping it's good enough for some interesting bosses... 010
minsoft @minsoftgames.bsky.social · 21/03/2026Thank you! There is still a long way to go but pretty pleased with how it is coming along! 110
minsoft @minsoftgames.bsky.social · 20/03/2026Been furiously trying to tick off as many things as poss from the todo list lately. Lots done, next is a biggie - enemy bullet system needs rebuilding from scratch. Quite a few fun things done - see vid: #vectrex #vyrzonii #shmup 67120
minsoft @minsoftgames.bsky.social · 14/03/2026The same dev did C64 versions of Minestorm & Spike from the Vectrex too. 100
minsoft @minsoftgames.bsky.social · 05/03/2026I usually use my cocktail table for playing, but like the standard controller when developing as I don't have much space (and need to know it works with the analog stick). Yours look great though, I didn't know you still made them! 000
minsoft @minsoftgames.bsky.social · 04/03/2026Hah yep, working on a new 'lightning' bomb! Yes it's the Sean Kelly one, got it from consoleboxes.com. Highly recommended.consoleboxes.comSuperb Reproduction Console Boxes from the UKExtremely high quality reproduction console/PC boxes for retro systems like Atari, Nintendo, Sega, Vectrex, ColecoVision, Sinclair, etc 020
minsoft @minsoftgames.bsky.social · 04/03/2026Have you seen VIDE? It does all that and much more: vide.malban.devide.malban.de 010
minsoft @minsoftgames.bsky.social · 04/03/2026They are very expensive these days. I got this one 20 years ago for £40! 110
minsoft @minsoftgames.bsky.social · 04/03/2026Treated myself to a new #vectrex controller. It's excellent, my old one had 5mm+ up & down play in the joystick. 71579
minsoft @minsoftgames.bsky.social · 02/03/2026Didn't think the 2-screens were widescreen but could be wrong. Closest machine I saw was the 2-screen X-Men. They did some amazing things with arcade games back in the day! 110
minsoft @minsoftgames.bsky.social · 02/03/2026Most of them had 3 screens I believe. I never saw one out in the wild unfortunately but must have been quite an experience! 110
minsoft @minsoftgames.bsky.social · 13/02/2026Finding the last 'good' version is half the battle! 110
minsoft @minsoftgames.bsky.social · 13/02/2026Been there...sometimes doing what you're doing is the only way to get to the bottom of it. Very annoying when you just want to crack on! Good luck! 110
minsoft @minsoftgames.bsky.social · 01/02/2026 I'd take the original apart to clean first though (if you haven't already), before doing anything more drastic! 010
minsoft @minsoftgames.bsky.social · 01/02/2026Put a normal pot (of same rating, size, pin spacing) where the original was. Bypass the power switch by connecting the wires on opposite sides of the switch together. Check continuity of the switch to make sure you connect the right ones. 110
minsoft @minsoftgames.bsky.social · 01/02/2026Hard to find a direct replacement, I believe. Worst case you could put a standard pot in for volume and bypass the power switch part (always on). Then power it on/off at the wall. 110
minsoft @minsoftgames.bsky.social · 26/01/2026I didn't realise Taito did a Defender cabinet. I prefer the look of that to the Williams one (*ducks*) 000
minsoft @minsoftgames.bsky.social · 26/01/2026I like it! I'm not usually keen on vertical-scroll-on-horizontal-monitor shooters but this is an exception. 010
minsoft @minsoftgames.bsky.social · 22/01/2026This article is nonsense, did AI write it? It says the game 'was developed specifically for the Vectrex Mini' which isn't true - it was made for real Vectrex. The article even has a picture showing a real Vectrex with PCB inserted. 000
minsoft @minsoftgames.bsky.social · 16/01/2026RoadBlasters has a unique controller - it uses optics (not potentiometer). (And only one axis) 110
minsoft @minsoftgames.bsky.social · 14/01/2026For anyone after a copy of Vyrzon for #vectrex, the US / GCE style version is now available from Sean Kelly!: vectrexmulti.com/order2.html#... 151
