So today I’ve been playing with alcohol inks on sea glass. I’ve got lots of ‘ mermaids nipples ‘ or ‘ kick ups ‘ to paint. 🧜🏻‍♀️ I’m planning on gluing them onto driftwood pieces to place in the garden, hoping they’ll resemble sea anemones that stick around in rock pools 😊 Happy so far 🤗

Well we’ve enjoyed another lovely break up here in Northumberland, weather on the whole has been fab. Done lots of beachcombing and found some awesome sea glass including two sea marbles,a fab aqua codd , a blue and yellow cats eye,a small red and an amberina glass piece too. Happy days 🤗🩵🌊

Enjoyed a lovely walk across the causeway to St Mary’s Lighthouse in Whitley Bay today, some beautiful flowers were looking so pretty in the sunshine, the fret came down while we were there and made it a very atmospheric walk back later. Love it there 🤗

There’s always some fantastic driftwood to be found on the point at Spittal in Berwick upon Tweed. This behemoth of a tree being just one amazing piece. Hubby leaned inside the end of the tree to take these photos. Looks like a very inviting sea cave ☺️🩵🌊

We’ve enjoyed a lovely break up here in Northumberland,visited places we’ve not been before. Ventured over the border into Scotland & found a beautiful village with an amazing beach. Had lots of sea glass there. Hubby found the best piece of Spongeware too yesterday on our local to site beach💜🤍🌊

In between the downpours we had a lovely walk here, lots of kelp and lots of cuttlefish washed up. No sea glass on this beach which we knew, but we found plenty on a little beach just the other side of the pier. #BerwickUponTweed #Northumberland

What a glorious day it’s been today, really warm and such a beautiful blue sky. I planted out a few pots including 3 filled with these little beauties, I love Petunias but have never seen this variety before, it’s very aptly named ‘ Starry Sky’ That’s just what I first thought of when I saw them 😊

Had a week away just over the border in Wales. Stayed in Chirk and while there visited the fab Pontcysyllte aqueduct in Llangollen. Saw this fab art installation on the canal bank showing pieces of ceramics, bricks and tools that were found during the digging out of the canal. Very interesting 🙂

We had a great beachcomb this morning, founds lots of sea glass and pottery, happily no rubbish to remove at all! This little red piece I thought was nasty plastic so removed it, a closer look later and found it’s actually glass 🥰 a beautiful teeny red glass bead with ‘c’ marks.

I’m very happy to hear that my sea glass framed picture of Anglesey has sold and is off to a new home in Canada! 🇨🇦 The family have relatives who came from Ynys Môn and are taking a little slice of the island back with them. Some glass used was from the island 🤗🩵🌊

🩵 it when I find out what the original item would’ve looked like from a piece of sea glass found. This little pansy has led me to discover it’s from the 1930’s depression glass, name Doric and Pansy Teal colour from Jeannette glass manufacturer,Pennsylvania USA. You’re never to old to learn!
