I aim to have my YouTube channel monetized before February 2027. But I’m going to be honest. I haven’t been active enough with my YouTube-channel. Youtube recently issued a heads-up, that from 1 February 2027 onwards, you need 8000 watch hours, to get monetized. Currently the requirement is 4000, during the past 365 days, from the days date. My goal is to get monetized, but I currently have 106 subscribers and just 166 public watch hours out of the 4,000 required, (for the past 365 days). That means I still need 3,834 more watch hours, so I am nowhere near my goal yet. I plan to update my journey on my socials, as I grow towards this target. I know that building a YouTube channel takes time. So I need to keep learning, creating better videos, and finding the right audience. But it can be difficult to grow when each new video brings only a few new subscribers. I have done the mistake of changing my video topics too much, and publishing too seldom, to give the channel algorithm a real chance of finding the people who might watch my channel. ## What is my YouTube channel about? I make YouTube videos about my life, travel, living in Finland (and in the past living in Italy and Sweden), everyday experiences, and starting over when life takes you in a new direction. I want to keep sharing these things and hopefully find more people who enjoy following my journey. That’s why I am asking for a little help. If you enjoy my content, please consider subscribing to my channel and watching my videos. Watching a video from beginning to end, when you genuinely enjoy it, helps build my watch hours. We recently visited Gekås Ullared, which is a well-known shopping destination in southern Sweden. The store is located in Ullared, a small town that feels almost like it is in the middle of nowhere. Even so, many people travel there to explore their huge selection of products. The shopping centre is enormous, with several different departments to discover. During our visit, we looked at clothing, fashion accessories, cosmetics, skincare products, computer accessories, gadgets, household items and groceries. There was so much to see that it would probably take several visits to explore everything properly. There is really no way for me to look at everything at once. Alternatively, it is a full 8-hour shopping day. One of the first things that caught my attention was the large selection of pink Björn Borg bags, pouches and shoulder bags. There were so many of them and I wanted to take them all home. The IT section was also interesting, especially because some of the products reminded me of things I had previously seen in YouTube videos. ## Full day of shopping might be needed In Gekås you can easily keep walking without realizing how large the store actually is. They have 86 checkout points. The store is truly huge, and shopping there can become surprisingly tiring. After spending about an hour inside, we were already exhausted. The air circulation in some of the furthest corners of the shop did not feel very good, which made the visit even more tiring. In the end, we bought a few small but useful things. We did not buy any food, although the store also has a grocery department. It was a long trip of approximately three and a half hours, but it was still a good experience. Gekås offers a wide variety of products in one place, from fashion and beauty items to technology and groceries. After exploring the store, we finally headed home, tired but happy with our little shopping finds. A long-term continued and anxiety-ridden stress, combined with being overweight, eating too much shrimps (?!), lack of exercise, working two jobs, having some other issues that you cannot mention in public and of course losing your beloved dog. Very old, maybe little burned, but still the best one. You know what I mean. Now Ristijärvi wants to find the most beautiful pot holder in whole village! For Ämmäinviikko. For this word, a rough translation would be the Week of the Bitches. Yes, seriously! 😂 They even select the Bitch of the Week. (Or an old hag actually would be a little nicer name for this.) In 2023 they selected a little Bitch that was actually a toddler called Jasmin. Yup. We did that, apparently. So, anyway, back to potholders. If you have a handmade pot holder in your drawer, on the wall, or you use it every day. Whatever the case, you can join this. Ristijärvi on the map of Finland Just bring it to service point in Aholantie 25, Ristijärvi, before 23.10. They will put number on it for an exhibition. All pot holders will be in Kyläkaivo and people can look and vote. Who gets most votes, wins! Winner is being selected on Monday 2.11.2026.
