There is a big (to me) spider in my backyard and my kids are way too interested in it. I think it’s an orb weaver??? I’m in San Francisco if anyone can offer an id. #spiders

Spider about the size of a quarter sitting in its web in front of an exterior wall. To me, it looks very creepy. I suppose if you like spiders it looks nice.

In the end I don’t hate it, and I’m happy I get to wear these pants again. But, many lessons learned.

The finished project with a geometric design stitched over the hole, the purple fabric poking through. It’s a bit sloppy.

This pattern would not have been such a challenge to figure out the right way to do the verticals and then the horizontals if I’d only had a fabric marker on hand. Alas. Had to undo a big chunk.

I let my 5yo help me with this part and I really deserve an award for my patience cause I was really good and calm, I swear. At least on the outside.

My 5yo’s interpretation of Scylla vs Charybdis. My husband always worries this kid is gonna get beat up and…I’m starting to see it. Hard being a genius.

My 5yo came home with his awesome creation and honestly I’m about ready to put him to work and commercialize this. We’re cool with child labor these days right? #parenting

Run any medical test you want on my mother and you will conclude she is the healthiest 70 year old you can find. Her fridge has literally nothing in it but condiments, cheese and booze.

A very sparsely filled fridge with a few kind of cheese, some yogurt, some hot sauce, pickles and a bunch of booze. And whipped cream.

If you’re in San Francisco and feeling left out of the whole #jimothy experience, I want you to know we have our very own mutant raccoon. Her name is Lyra. She lives at the (free) Randall museum. She’s a star.

A raccoon in an enclosure looks directly at the camera. She has a worm sticking out of her mouth. Her jaws do not close properly so her bottom teeth protrude from her mouth, giving her an adorable if unhinged expression.
