Nederland en Duitsland staan pal achter het Internationaal Strafhof en zijn belangrijke rol in de strijd tegen straffeloosheid. Samen met @aussenminister.diplo.de bezocht ik het Hof en spraken we met president Akane en griffier Zavala Giler. We blijven het Hof voluit steunen.

Met with Iraqi colleague Fuad Hussein. We discussed our good bilateral relations, including cooperation on migration and counterterrorism. We also exchanged views on the disarmament process in Iraq and efforts to promote regional stability.

Antisemitisme neemt wereldwijd toe. In gesprek met internationale Joodse organisaties deelden zij zorgen die ook in Nederland leven. We spraken over wat nodig is om antisemitisme te bestrijden en Joodse gemeenschappen te beschermen. Dat vraagt om samenwerking over grenzen heen.

Satellieten helpen ons om verdachte scheepsbewegingen en militaire activiteiten in het Hoge Noorden te volgen. Ook leveren ze informatie over weer en klimaat. Op Andøya zag ik met de Belgische minister Maxime Prévot en de Luxemburgse minister Xavier Bettel hoe Noorwegen daarin investeert.

Positief nieuws uit Genève: 128 landen hebben binnen de GGE LAWS consensus bereikt. Nu militaire technologie zich snel ontwikkelt, is dit een belangrijke stap in de regulering van autonome dodelijke wapensystemen. Nederland heeft zich hier als voorzitter actief voor ingezet.

Positive news from Geneva: 128 states have reached consensus in the GGE LAWS. As military technology is evolving rapidly, this marks an important step in the regulation of lethal autonomous weapon systems that the Netherlands, in its capacity as Chair, helped shape.
